He went into the convention with a plan to change the platforms view on Russia whom the republicans were looking to ratchet up sanctions on at the time.

It's hilarious how up until this weekend the song and dance was "There is nothing to the investigation and it is a dud!" Now you are justifying why charges are coming back. "Well these charges are only for Manafort". Heh. Sounds like you are giving excuses to yourself.

PS: I'm pretty sure Flynn is going to be included in the indictments, and if he isn't then it is only a matter of time. The investigation is FAR from over.

Now the left won't believe me when I say: none of this ties back to trump in any way, shape or form. But that is true as well. Manafort has no dirt on trump to flip for favorable prosecution.

Oh, and it has absolutely zero to do with russia.

Maybe they're picking Manafort up for crimes they have evidence for and can prove from his time under Podesta in an attempt to have him plea out of it and give up something on Trump.

He has nothing on trump. They worked together for a few months, that's it. I know you guys have worked up a salacious conspiracy that trump hired manafort because of his ties to russia/other foreign countries but that's simply not true. Manafort was hired because he was the guy that could ensure that the convention went smoothly.

So what has happened here? Mueller was hired to investigate Russian meddling in the 2016 election. He is now prosecuting a guy who was being watched by the Obama DoJ in 2012 for financial crimes.
