It seems the state is to large to properly govern and get control of in today’s world.

That's not really it. What it comes down to is a few billionaires in California want to divide the state up so that they get more Senators who are in their pockets, which in turn gives them much more control.

The tech industry is amazing in many ways, but in others they're just as bad as any other large industry in trying to control the government.

Too bad they can't manage their budget or natural resources. What happens when you add in the requirement for their own military?

Billionaire Wants to Split California Into 3 States
The proposal would split the Golden State into three: Northern California, Southern California and a new California

Contrary to the talking heads on tv even if California votes and approves this Congress is the deciding factor if it happens.

So, let's see...

Little Mexico, Hippyville, and Super Hippyville.

What's the point really?

Someone needs to find a way to frack them off into the ocean and set adrift

That would be a colossal waste...

Round up the libtards in CA and ship them to Louisiana. Since Louisiana still operates under Napoleonic code turn the state into one big prison and dig a moat around the state.

2 problems solved at once.

From a purely financial viewpoint I am against this, although I have no say in the matter. While the number of members of the House would remain the same, we are adding 4 more Senators, which cost millions each year at taxpayer expense.

It's never going to happen.

Agreed. I heard a joke once that Northern California and Southern California are locked in a bitter feud, only Southern California is unaware of it.

Oh ok, well in that case we should break up every state into multiple ones since they all have disenfranchised voters based on the color of the state?

Except Montana.

Not to mention they pay more federal taxes then many states combined,we are weighted down by southern states who are dependant on Federal aid, funny thing is,why do all these wayward states come up with storys,I think Californians would of heard of this, and only time we have is lame posts like this easily duped

Not to mention if CA breaks into 3 each "new" state will lose a significant tax base. The universal health care and other socialist style "wants" some of these regions have will never be funded on their own and wont have the full resources CA would have if it remained whole.

To my knowledge the only region in the US that would see a gain would be if New York City left the state of New York and became their own entity (a question they have floated a few times now). If NYC was able to keep all of their tax revenue they would be able to fund a lot of their socialist agenda items completely and still have cash left over.

Many years ago they sent something like 6-8 billion dollars to Albany and only received 2 billion back. I am not sure of those numbers now but I cant imagine they have changed all that much.

The x factor would be how much these "new" states have to absorb from what was once California. Their debt load (pensions etc) and ho much they would lose in federal funding (especially EPA and Highway funds).
