Wulfrida
I didn't say that we have complete equality, Wulfrida. I said that equality has improved a crapload and has been getting better. That's undeniable.
We had a female presidential candidate for the first time last year and women hold prominent positions all over the place. Obviously it's not perfect
and there are still men out there that treat women unfairly, but male privilege is very highly exaggerated. I never had anything handed to me in life
because I was a male, in fact it was more like the opposite, working for mostly female supervisors and managers in my career, but I never complained
once when women were promoted over me, even when I'm the better worker in many of those cases. I had to earn everything myself. I do agree that
equal work should be equal pay (considering education, seniority and job performance of course).
Men and women are both objectified today. Like I said, men have higher sex drives, so it's no surprise that they would be more likely to appeal to
physical attributes, but men are programmed that way in their DNA, so it's not completely their fault. Evolutionarily, as men, our job has been to
spread our seed and reproduce at all costs. It's part of the very essence of our being, so when a beautiful woman walks by with her breasts bulging
out and wearing extremely tight pants, it is extremely difficult to not look. It's not because we're pigs, it's because reproducing has been our main
purpose for millions of years and the way women dress today (as opposed to just 20 years ago) makes it very difficult on us. Women don't have to
dress like that, and many do it for the sole purpose of manipulating men. Obviously this isn't always the case, but to think it's all the man's fault
is ridiculous. Women aren't forced to be models or porn starts. That is completely their choice, and I respect their choice to do that or not do
that.
The point is every situation is different. You can't just look at things in broad generalizations and blanket statements. Men and women are both very
different hormonally so you will never have complete equality. Men have strengths, women have strengths, but today any sex can succeed and the
favoritism goes both ways.
