I already watched the whole season. Personally, I found it very troubling.
I find it easy to relate to others and empathize, which makes exposure to such psychologies troubling for me at first.
So often killers have a problem with their mother - our first symbol of "other" or not self. If you are a mother it sparks all kinds of questions like
how can I be so that none of my offspring end up a serial killer??? Because sometimes the mother is seriously abusive or neglectful, but sometimes
not. Sometimes she was just normal, but the father was absent (physically or emotionally). It ends up not truly being a problem with the mothers
behavior - but from the point of view of the killer, it is often seen as starting from there. -Which is the scary part of looking through their
eyes.
My stepmother does psychological assesments of violent criminals in prisons and is extremely good at entering their shoes, and stepping out of them at
the end of the day. But she also never had kids of her own, which is probably the best way to stay good at this!
