Well, sometimes I don't know what to think of this guy. He seems mostly like another right wing buffoon, and mixing philosophies of supporting an elite billionaire with supposed "populist" working people ideology doesn't make any sense and is hard to believe. It is funny though how he attacked Bush basically calling him a moron and saying that he doesn't know what he's talking about, but Bush was completely correct for once, talking about how divisive Trump is.

Anyways, is Bannon crazy, dumb, confused or what is he? I actually agreed with what he said in here about citizens should have more rights than non-citizens, and he has said some anti corporate sentiment, but other than that he seem to be a loon. What does everyone think?

I saw his speech and he was pretty much spot on in everything he said in my view.
Sometimes the truth hurts.

Love or hate Bannon, he is not the typical republican, and often does not fit in the establishment mold.

Funnier to me though is the newfound respect and kindness coming from the left about Bush. I never cared for him, he was a stain on recent history IMO. But I remember the left making the Bush devil signs and what not.... Now it's like they miss him.

Anyone that attacks the Bush clan can't be all bad.

I like Bannon and he was spot on.

Not really , I watched his speech and he was Steve Bannon , it was refreshing to see someone speak without having to use an autoque too.
He's right about Bush he was the worst President and he is an Idiot , likable idiot though.

Globalist, and pissed that his brother (like Hillary, who was "destined" to be President) isn't.

So all of you who now say Bush is terrible, did you vote for him? I'm pretty sure 80% of people on this forum did.

I didn't vote for him. I typically go independent.

But while I'm sure you may be correct about many people voting for him here, doesn't mean you can't be disappointed.

Just as many people are disappointed in Trump, or many democrats disappointed their party cheated Bernie in favor of an establishment right wing democrat.

The Iraq War cost thousands of American soldiers their life's, and say what you want about Sadam, at least they had an infrastructure under him. The country is in ruins.

So why are you mad people realize Bush was a bad president? At least it's introspective and honest. Hopefully once Obama's God aura wears off the nation can be honest about his wolf in sheep's clothing presidency... Which ironically, was an extensive of Bush policy.

I truly miss the good old days of ATS when it was about conspiracy, ufo's, and other alternate stuff. It has just become another political dumping ground of right vs left. id there anyway I can block out political threads?

Is anyone sensing a pattern here? I don't even have to read the comments, all I have to do is read the thread title then see the username/avatar and already know where they stand on the issue and their basic affirmation/rebuttal.

Anyone else recognize the rampant groupthink going on around here lately?

I see everyone agreeing Bush and his family are evil.

Just like people here agree that the Clinton clan is evil.

A lot of agreement on this site imho.

..and rightly so. Who wouldn't agree?
Also nice to see enough people rejecting the ACTUAL attempts by the usual suspects to force groupthink - TRUMP = BAD.
I guess their failure to do so is a bit frustrating.

It's genuinely rose-colored glasses. I catch myself doing it every once in awhile when I see the current POTUS spewing some nonsense. Remember when he dodged a shoe? When he tried to open a locked door? When he said that dumb thing that one time? Those were the days...

Then I remember the war, the lies to lead us to war, the lies about murdered civilians. I remember Abu Graib and Guantanamo and the thousands of innocent men sent to CIA blacksite prisons for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I remember the torture and the stop-loss. I remember the economy collapsing, seemingly overnight.

Compared to Trump it's easier and easier to look at Bush as a 'good president.' The man understood the weight of the office and was respectful enough to fade away after his presidency ended.

Fade away until now, and there is no comparison, Bush was a horrible president, Trump has done nothing yet thanks to an impotent congress

Yeah, I remember the left used to dislike Bush. But the reality is, Trump and his new movement are a lot more radical and conservative than Bush.

Bush talking about divisiveness.

Funniest damned thing ever.

Now I know for fact that the Mandela effect is real. In my world, he and Rove were the founders of the strategy and liberals weren't falling all over themselves trying to agree with him.

Bannon himself is pretty open and honest about what he is. He's Joseph Goebbels.

Well, Bush is a war criminal and proud of it, and lay the groundwork for a totalitarian police state.

So are you sticking up for Bush here? I've seen several members of your persuasion do so in the past few weeks. It's really quite strange.

Trump and his movement was, at least in theory, a rebellion against the Republican (and American in general) political establishment. Bush is about as establishment Republican as they come.

Well there is an unwritten code that past presidents don't interject themselves into the affairs of sitting presidents. So....
