Trump plans to release JFK assassination documents

I just do not get this FOIA thing. Why wait so long to release a file? Are they hoping all the witnesses and people involved would be dead or have Dementia by now? Someone please enlighten me on this.

Was this pointed at me? if it was you answered your own question. The military wasn't the only group that had access to that round, but as I already state the 556 theory has no solid evidence as of yet.

I think you're mostly right about the reasoning. That along with waiting for the public to be able to accept the information without freaking out. Maybe ducking statutes of limitations too?

It's hugely unlikely that there will be a "smoking gun" in all the new material. The most likely outcome -- as we saw with the early batch released a month or two ago -- is that there will be bits and pieces that make sense of some areas of the puzzle, but which need assembling. This is bureaucracy we're dealing with, and 50-year-old bureaucracy at that. There aren't going to be any signed confessions, things don't work like that.

Although, the above notwithstanding, I'd happily place a small sum on there being some document emerging that explicitly tries to pin the whole thing on Castro. This was what a lot of people in the CIA believed to be the case, and also what a lot of people in the CIA wanted outsiders to believe.

What there definitely won't be is anything that points even the gentlest finger at Poppy Bush. He weeded the CIA's files on the JFK murder when he was CIA director.

Trump is just bringing the CIA to heel. We will never see ALL of these files since some very important people would be shown as liars and participants in a cover up.....even IF , at the time, reasonable people would have argued for lies to create calm over bare fact......we will NEVER see these.....OR the UFO files...not a chance.

FYI you can SEE on video and in stills the gun-smoke from the shot coming from the sewer AT GROUND LEVEL to the low right side of the Limo , you can see movement on the public domain videos IN THAT SEWER.......you can see the 3 observers who were on the stairs to the left and above the snipers nest reacting to the shot and their reactions syncronised with audio prove what they prove not only that but ONE of the 3 men on the stairs KNEW the shot would be coming as his non-reaction evidences.....lol.....he had 2 patsys with him who were oblivious.

In addition a Dallas PD Motorcycle Cop DROPS HIS BIKE directly over the opening to said sewer where one of the fatal shots came from.

The Warren Commission's records were sealed until 2039, this being 1964 (year of the Warren Report's publication) + 75 years. This was a general archiving policy for sensitive material at the time, the underlying purpose of which was to protect individual privacy.

The logic was that within 75 years, anyone mentioned would almost certainly be dead - this isn't as suspicious as it sounds. Archivists used to put a greater value on personal privacy than most of us now feel comfortable with.

The Warren Commission's records were deposited before the Freedom of Information Act was passed (1966, taking effect in 1967). When the FOIA took effect, the Warren Commission's records were still un-get-at-able due to their high classification status.

Oliver Stone's 1991 movie JFK produced a swell of public interest in the subject, and the resulting political pressure on Congress led HW Bush to sign the The President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act (1992), the creation of the Assassination Records Review Board, and the revised release date of 2017.

That's just the broad sweep of the narrative, from memory (so maybe slightly wrong, somewhere), the details are worth looking at if you're interested - particularly the review board's work, which hasn't achieved anywhere near enough attention. There's a fascinating series of books by one board member called Doug Horne, which are worth any buff's time.

Trump doesn't get credit for this. The files were due to be released this year regardless of who was president.

But - there was always a presidential veto attached to the release, which meant any body that had a stake in the records could have obtained an exemption by identifying specific records to the White House. In theory, then, pretty much anything of value could have been held back till 2039, as originally intended.

Trump has said that nothing is going to be withheld. IMHO he deserves at least some credit for that, from the public if not from the intelligence and law enforcement agencies that he's over-riding by refusing to exercise his veto.

If you do the math on this event you can see where the shot came from, and oddly who benefited most from it (hint: the one building that wasn't inspected in the plaza that day also had ties to George de Mohrenschildt) Do the math and you will see what could be going on here with the shots fired that day (but sadly the truth will only come out when what's left of the papers from that day are released)

There was more than one rifle and more than one calibre. The bullet (7mm) that pierced JFKs neck, the seat, Connally's chest, rib, wrist and thigh, remained whole. The one that penetrated JFKs skull (.223) exploded into minute fragments.

Thats why the brain, the X-rays, the autopsy photos and notes are all missing. To cover that up.

They will never release any of that. In fact they confiscated it all to cover up that part.
