One thing I don't expect is the government to incriminate itself
That is really the only reason to not release it all.
Technology from that decade wouldn't be anything breaking that we wouldn't have now. Most people involved are no longer under a threat and they could be blanked out anyways.
Exposing the inner workings of gov't would not be shocking in todays world nor a big secret too our enemies.
The only thing it could do at worst is confirm what many have known and possibly cause a revolt against the MIC and other big players.

Actually this was set up to release on Oct 26, 2017 way back in 1992 under Bush Sr. Trump is 'releasing the records' because, yesterday, Trump halted the release out of a newfound concern for the intelligence community's safety.
Or in other words, long enough for people to think he was responsible for the release.
Or to spell it out, this is Trump yet again trying to take credit for doing something he didn't do, and isn't actually doing.

It'll never happen. If it does it will look like this:
Mr. _____ was _______ on _________ at approx. ________ when he _______ ________. ________ also _________ the ______ and ________ was _________ at _________ _________ street.
I certify the above testimony to be factual and has not been made under duress.

Wow, this are great news for conspiracy theorists. I hope the text of those documents are not covered with black marker. Anyway, all people mentioned must be dead by now.

Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened.

The problem I've found with declassified files is they never tell you what you want to hear and if they do that part is redacted.
I'm pretty sure the mystery will persist well after the release of these files.
