Are we living in Computer Simulation?

So if im reading this correctly the notion of creating a massive-scale simulation using classical computers is “impossible. Oh well suppose that blows Elon Musk's theory that we live in a simulation out the window

It's not a computer simulation, it's a damn Grand Theft Auto simulation.

Think about it a bit more. More advanced civilization but not a more advanced "computing" platform?

It's also not Elon musk's idea. It comes from actual cosmology philosophy.

If the Universe is a simulation or holographic projection the answer is far more complex than just being a computer simulation in my opinion.

I think thinking of sitting behind a Tandy is probably imagined.

I have argued with people in the teleological argument for god (personally agnostic but formally a philosophy student) that there is obviously a program.

If there wasn't a program constant randomness would stop the creation of stable molecules that hold anything together in the known universe.

Of coarse it gets far deeper the deeper you go into ontology.

Bosonic theory or super strings both add dimensions to grapple with mathematical symmetry. This is an entirely massive thought experiment to even comprehend if you can even get to the point of understanding the mathematics.. I mean months,..years of structured logic thinking to even begin to grasp if your route is formal.

Oddly it also seems enherent or innate in humans or possibly nature to understand the cosmos this way as mystics across time have some startling concepts compared to the equiptment available.

It seems the limited accessible brain activity would play more of a cage to the human perception, preventing the human mind from fully being able to understand the location.

Sort of like livestock cannot understand or are not aware of the reason for the beautiful farm they roam and are grown on until harvest... Or how animals on reservations are given a limited access to the world they are naturally part of out of safety.
There could be various reasons for more advanced CREATOR Creations to limit perception of unaware "host" and or build & test holographic or simulated realities.

Outta box, it could be as simple as an advanced Time Traveling CREATOR Creation Energy Group/species that wishes to learn about the past of a species or even their own species that perished or lost significant numbers of their kind who builds said simulation to find the answers lost in the past to save the future...

Large amounts of malevolence displayed in recent days by demonic-malevolent possessed lower vibrating human.

Replace the words "computer" and "data" and things of that nature with metaphysical terms and the theory is actually pretty accurate.

No idea what you are on about there. Care to elaborate? What do 'dimensions ' have to do with anything?

The OP stated aliens couldn't stimulate a universe with modern computer architecture. I'm simply asking why he would assume they wouldn't be using advanced computers.

What is a computer? What is a simulation? Even Christians support the idea that we live in a simulation of sorts, that the physical world is simply a temporary place and that after we "die" we return to Heaven. Wouldn't this simulation have to be run on something? Couldn't we call that an advanced computer?

Yes, it's a simulation. More like a virtual reality game show.

Jesus proved this 2000 years ago when he fed 5000 people with 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread.



He just hit "copy" on the simulation computer and "duplicated" the fish and bread pieces, just like we copy movies, pics, photocopy documents, and copy via 3D printing today. Just a little more sophisticated DNA coping.

Well one thing is sure we live in a simulation made by our brains.

Certain wave lengths of electromagnetic energy hits receptors in our eyes and send a signal along the optic nerves to our brains pressure waves vibrate our eardrums and send signals to our brains.
The brain takes these signals and creates a perceivable world out of them yet it's nothing but a virtual reality made by our brains based on nerve impulses.
