(CNN)Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, amid the fallout of the massacre in Las Vegas, turned the political spotlight on a gun bill that's currently making its way through the House. "The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots. Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get," she tweeted Monday morning. She wrote later, "Our grief isn't enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again."

Is this in any way connected? I hate to jump immediately into conspiracy mode, but when something like this happens, I seem to always think, "What are the political ramifications of this?"

There is currently a bill being discussed about this very subject. Until this event, a good example of why suppressors would be dangerous didn't really exist. Of course it would make me sick to "know" that our leaders would kill innocents just to advance their policy, but being a member of this site, to ignore that would be wrong.

I fully admit I have not seen any footage, or even heard any audio of this event, on purpose. But the timing is suspect IMHO.
I really hope that is nothing more than a poor thought and some fleeting paranoia. But I feel better having said it.

If Trump wasn't president I can guarantee it would be a done deal (gun grab Australia comes to mind) within the next few weeks.

She's an idiot basically.

It's a SUPPRESSOR, not a silencer. And no, it would not have caused more deaths. Because of the inherent issues with adding a SUPPRESSOR to an automatic weapon it would likely have resulted in a catastrophic failure of the rifle and caused less deaths. A SUPPRESSOR would have overheated because of the number of rounds going through it, melted or fallen apart, causing the next round to impact the barrel/SUPPRESSOR and exploding. Typically this results in a nasty injury to the shooter as well.

Suppressors are only there to contain sound of the ignition of the gunpowder to protect the shooters ears when used with a high velocity rifle round. Unless hand pressed for sub sonic speeds, the round makes a super sonic crack upon leaving the barrel.

Politicians really need to shut up until they can educate themselves on these matters.

i got a feeling it gonna be a lot more tougher than the shame on you event, with a ban or complete restrictions on a lot of fire arms, followed by ever increasing ban and restrictions.

don't get your panties bunched up. nothing is going to change, we've all seen this movie before...hand wringing and shouts of "we have to do something" for a few days, and then we all go back to living our lives.....same old thing, different day

I'm liking how the Democrats just move from one subject to the next without finishing anything. Dig your hole donkeys. Dig.

If they would actually educate themselves on what they are talking about they may be able to truly get something done.

As it stands, they look like uneducated fools when they open theirs mouths. It is only others that are equally as poorly educated in this sphere that will nod their heads and agree.

But she really isn't irrelevant, she still has tens of millions of supporters and is still a highly influential politician despite losing to Trump.

She is the reason it happened, #resisthillaryshate

"Silencers" lol. A Suppressor was not used, and they don't work on auto fire weapons, what a moron with zero clue just push that libtard agenda at all costs.

Farts are funny.

Hillary is a political fart.

Sometimes she's a wet fart, and that can be annoying. Other times she's a stinky Taco Bell fart.

Most of the time she's like a regular fart. Often amusing, highly inappropriate, and contains just as much substance.
