The Battle of Chile - An Insider Look at Your Country being Invaded from Within.

Just recently finished watching this movie, which is actually 3 parts, but a very engrossing watch on what it's like to see your country gradually being taken over by imperialist forces (or the "mummies", which Chileans referred to them as) from the inside. Still very much relevant today but even if you don't disagree with US foreign policies, it's still a valuable glimpse into history, which probably wasn't reported as it actually happened over there at the time.




Note, if you don't like politics then this won't be for you.

I'd recommend reading some of Peter Levenada's work in this area. Pretty scary stuff and the fact that US foreign policy, or more precisely, the CIA's foreign policy violated so many people's rights throughout Latin American all in the name of corporate profit is a black mark on our society and one that continues there, in the Middle East and in Africa.

The documentary, "Everything from JFK to 911 is a Rich Man's Trick" posits that the CIA, and it's forerunner the OSS, were never actually set up to protect the US's national interests but to protect elite business interests. Though I don't agree with everything in the documentary it does make some extremely interesting points.

On another note, another OP last week gave a movie review of a film entitled "The Embrace of the Serpent." It is about white intrusions in the Amazonian Rain Forrest and is a remarkable movie. The political statements it makes are not the primary focus and it is a beautiful movie with an amazingly crafted story spanning 40 years. I would recommend it greatly. It is available on Amazon Prime.
