Why were the Virgin Islands destroyed?

Now that I do not believe in random events... Anyone else out there suspicious of the time line of events that took place recently; the exiting of Paris Climate Accord and subsequent hurricanes? Call me crazy but I suspect a message has been sent. My mind wanders to the question of why take out the Virgin Islands? Technically, part of the U.S. but still.. I know Richard Branson resides/owns Neker Island, and I just so happened to watch the documentary about Neker Island only 3 days prior to it being nailed by Irma. Coincidence? Not if you were to ask me, but then I no longer believe in coincidence.
Anyone have a theory?

No, no theory. All I have is the reality that they were hit by a massive cat 5 hurricane and were not "destroyed" Believe it or not when a small island in the middle of the ocean that is in the path of hurricanes they are going to get clobbered from time to time.

I once watched a "What if ... " documentary on New Orleans which was based on what if New Orleans were hit by a hurricane.

If there is any message to be sent by Neker Island being hit by a hurricane it is that "champagne socialists" have more money than brains, and that they prefer not to pay taxes and not have any public services, rather than pay taxes and have public services. They didn't even bother building their own home out of concrete, boathouses or even a harbor wall.

Because the hurricane was being managed by incompetent neophytes who were aiming at Cuba.

By kinetic energy in winds and other laws of physics.
But since there IS a landmass left and they aren't ALL dead, it's DAMAGED alone.
If there IS a WEATHER war it isn't a nationstate (OUTSIDE of the US ) doing it.
One can ONLY postulate it would be a decisive oligarch attack against the people perhaps but the enemy is, beyond our kin,skilled at hiding.

I have a theory and it's called weather..

A place that has been hit by hurricanes before was hit by a hurricane..

I absolutely believe it's because the "average poster" doesn't have a mastery of English parts of speech.
Either that, or it's all just sensationalistic rhetoric.

I'm really not sure how these recent hurricanes qualify. Worse than Katrina? Worse than Louise? Worse than Celina, Agnes?
Methinks most people making these comparisons have no real knowledge of history (or the depths of their own ignorance).

I hear ya! Except for the information showing that weather can and has been manipulated. That leads me to postulate that even naturally occurring weather storms can be directed to or deterred from a location. My interest is, like I stated, if there is anyone out there who has reason to believe the USVI's may have been targeted. I understand it's a stretch, I'm just throwing it out there because, who knows? Not me, and not you; it is a theoretical question.

I would agree that it is most likely not an outside nationstate. More likely a show of what we will do to our own, in an attempt to instill fear to those that do not play ball.

Cloud seeding is a magnitude of impossible away from any man made force being able to control the power of a hurricane or a tornado.

That makes for cool SyFy movies but when you apply logic to it then weather as a weapon or as a controllable thing falls apart.

Look up HAMP (Hurricane And Microphysics Program). Cloud seeding is weather modification and so are many other technologies they aren't talking about but are being/ have been used. To think they start a program that shows results and then decide to scratch that program, is not likely.
