The art of winning a war of words without a bullet

A few of us live here in Asia and even some of you are stationed in South Korea and Japan and Okinawa, but as we all know, you must keep your thoughts to yourself when it comes to military matters.
Us that have been or even active in the military know, wait, wait and study the situation. Right now, its nothing more of "words" to keep North Korea "rocket man" in power. You have to understand, without him in power and in control "through fear" of its people, North Korea will invade China and South Korea with refugees and all three countries know that.
So, for the time being, as it has been for the last 50 years, words and more words. But, one must always keep their guard up, for North Korean people feel that they maybe invaded by other powers of the "world".

Been with SAC and TAS while in the Air Force, always been on alert from threats from North Korea and that's when they only had machine guns.

Talks wont work. Dead lock is reached. This time America will be tested like never befor.

What we hear is only the audible music of a far deeper mis-harmony . There exists a serious and credible threat to the US hegemony , and North Korea is only a one tool of that grouping : the SCO .
The discord is coming from a major shift in global politics , where China with its own backers is now breaking the US and their backers will, by trading oil in its own currency the yuan . Unfortunately . that comes off the back of years of unfairness/iniquity/unequity by those who have been forcing that oil be traded in dollars alone. That is now being comprehensively challenged, whereas other challenges to the petrol dollars regime such as that of Gaddaffi have been seen off relatively easily . . There are several fronts to this situation between the * two competing co-operation organisations * notably Syria and the Ukraine , Turkey, Venezuela , Yemen, but also the running squabble to secure and hold resources has run across Africa and central asia too.

When it comes to NorthKorea then its an unsettling fact that , America appears to be bringing the battle to China's very doorstep . The important bit of China is right there next to NoKo as well . When a certain Trump has been brought to front the domination machine , and the other has Kim Jong Un , then it is anyones guess where this could all go . Personally I think Trump / he actually know by now that they The West are in fact outgunned by the SCO , and that , there is a very real chance indeed that America even with all of NATO/ the UN etc would lose world war 3 .

The West is just going to have to accept being poorer in the future , and America go back to being ' the average nation on Earth' instead of 'the greatest' , or 'the most free' .
Unless .. those that decide are stupid enough to nuke NK , but I dont think they are that stupid , or hell bent, because the result would be ridiculous . All told , no one could disagree with that .


World war two and one ran along very similar 'treaty-backed standoff' lines . Its not 'words' being exchanged , its goods oil and money but we are (still) talking about the future and in whose hands that power and the wealth across the world will eventually rest .

yes, so true, but now it has been said that nk has some very goof mineral deposits, maybe china wants them with the US help. something to consider.

Pffft... the anti North Korea rhetoric is political, not military.

Been with SAC and TAS while in the Air Force, always been on alert from threats from North Korea and that's when they only had machine guns.

The threat is from the occupation, that threatens the entire region.

I don't feel the NK people think anything of the sort. The leaders probably feel that they may be invaded but not the people. The people are held under the boot through fear and intimidation and I think given the chance (a chance that they will never have) they would unite with the South. But don't hold your breath.
Of course jaw jaw is better than war war.
Apart from Kim and his propaganda machine no country has shown the slightest inkling that they want to take over NK. Apart from "if Kim does this" or "Kim does that" we will invade. Kim is the one ramping up the ante, for the world and his people.
