Lol. If this is true, I find it hilarious.

A person who is known to expose secrets of government to the public is not something Governments want in their vicinity.

This is a common everyday thing along the US/Canada border.

Anybody who has a criminal record, 9 out of 10 times will get turned away at the border... whether it's a US citizen trying to travel into Canada, or a Canadian citizen trying to travel into the US. Both sides of the border are pretty tight on this kind of stuff.

DUI's, drug possession, assault, theft, fraud, other felonies, hell even some minor charges... chances are you will likely get turned down at the border. I know plenty of Canadians that can't go on a simple weekend vacation in the US because of some marijuana possession charges or DUI's they received like 20 to 30 years ago when they were young and stupid.

This stuff goes on all day, every day, 365 days a year.

But because it's Chelsea Manning, now it's somehow magically news worthy ?

Meh.

I never realized how racist and bigoted Canadians were!

We need to build bridges, not walls!

They really hate Americans with CCW's too.

But Canada seems to have weaponized music and exports to the US: Beiber, Dion, Brian Adams, Alanis Morrissette...had some screwed up relationships due to her fans.

As for Celine Dion and Justine Bieber ?

Over our dead bodies are they crossing back over to this side. You guys let them sneak across years ago, and now you're stuck with them.

But give us back William Shatner, dammit.

It's not a matter of "hating" Americans with CCW's.

It's a matter of we have very different laws here. Not just anybody here can conceal carry, you have to jump through hoops and apply for a specialized authority permit to be able to do so.... something that's very tough for the average citizen to be able to get.

So no, a foreigner from another country is not able to freely carry their gun and permit into ours all willy nilly just because.

If an American has a CCW permit and wants to enter into another country with it, then they need to apply to said country's government to be able to do so... and even then you'll most likely get turned down unless it's for one hell of a good reason (like you're law enforcement on official business or something).

Different country, different laws.

Nothing to do with "hate".

Also, If Canada can deny her entry we should return the favor and ban Celine Dion from entry.

Nooooooooo, we don't want her back..you keep the Bieber too.

American border services have turned Canadians back for much less than espionage.

She's in the basement guest lodgings.

I see you've been hanging out with the Augmeister a wee bit too much.... next thing you know he'll be teaching you how to roll them up in a carpet with duct tape too.

Some of us still carry the rug burns memories of those visits to this day.

There is permit to carry and then there is actually carrying. If you have a permit in the US they don't want to believe that you are not carrying nor do they want to check. I was once denied entry because the owner of the box truck has a CCW. He was not with me nor did I have a permit...didn't matter.

I didn't care, it was GM that had to go an extra day without parts on an already expedited load. Oddly enough I was fine and dandy to enter in the morning. Funny thing about phone calls.

I think it depends on who you end up with at the border crossing... some border agents are lazy bastards and just can't be bothered to check for firearms with CCW's. Meanwhile others are tearing your vehicle apart for 3 hours because you have a friggin tattoo on your forearm.

There's just no predicting what these buggers are going to do at the border.

Even people with criminal records, sometimes they manage to get across no problem and other times it's a "no go". Most times they get nabbed at the border, but once in a while you end up with a lazy schmuck who just takes a quick glance at your driver's license and then waves you on through with a nice "Enjoy your trip sir/madam".

Go figure.

They check passports....
And you should try to immigrant there....
Good luck

I think you mean "emigrate" or "migrate". "Immigrant" is a noun, while "emigrate" and "migrate" are verbs.

Can we work out some kind of custody scheduling on this one?

I mean, Canada's not getting her back, and I'd to have any bad blood between you and I.
