Obama Ambassador to the UN tried unmasking citizens at a furious pace....why?

King Obama's UN Ambassador Samantha Power is being called to the Hill next month reportedly to answer questions on why she made so many requests to unmask US citizens in the final days of the King Obama monarchy.
Supposedly the requests exceeded 260 in number.
Why would she need to know that many US citizens identities in her capacity as UN Ambassador?
I smell a big, stinking Democrat rat.

Samantha Power, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, was 'unmasking' at such a rapid pace in the final months of the Obama administration that she averaged more than one request for every working day in 2016 – and even sought information in the days leading up to President Trump’s inauguration, multiple sources close to the matter told Fox News.

Two sources, who were not authorized to speak on the record, said the requests to identify Americans whose names surfaced in foreign intelligence reporting, known as unmasking, exceeded 260 last year. One source indicated this occurred in the final days of the Obama White House.

In a July 27 letter to Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said the committee had learned "that one official, whose position had no apparent intelligence-related function, made hundreds of unmasking requests during the final year of the Obama Administration."
The "official" is widely reported to be Power.

Previous U.N. ambassadors have made unmasking requests, but Fox News was told they number in the low double digits.

Samantha Powers' name keeps coming up in many quarters, when potential crimes are being discussed. If you read her eyes in that photo, Samantha is emotionally burdened with a combination of guilt and deceit. (imo, of course)

Obama and Hillary's dream of a North American Union (like the EU) was put on hold. They had been making an "Enemy's List" with the UN to push their agenda if Hillary had won.

Absolutely.
The lengths they went to trying to implicate Trump and his people with something is unprecedented.
The fact that the Dims still lost the election, speaks volumes as to their utter incompetence.
It was supposed to be the biggest landslide in election history for Hillary and none of them saw the loss coming at all.

Most names in such intelligence reports are masked to protect privacy, but last year government officials requested that 1,934 identities — not initially revealed in the NSA reports — be unmasked in order to understand the intelligence being conveyed. In 2015, government officials requested the unmasking of 2,232 identities.

Who's working on getting to the bottom of all these unmaskings? We get lots of leaks from Mueller's "leak-proof" witch-hunt. But somebody has to be seriously pursuing Powers, Rice, Lynch, Comey, etc..?

You'd think it merit some investigating by reporters. On the flip side, it must have been utterly useless campaign dirt as it was never used for anything save hookers having fun on a bed the Obama's slept on. I don't know how opposition research by a left leaning outfit got funded by the FBI. That one needs some investigating too.

Who is the big sieve in Mueller's leaks.....has to be someone "in the know" with him.

Would this unmasking of so many somehow be legal search and seizure to the leftist? What is happening to the premise that they need the damning evidence before they can legally search? The left base will leave over this mess the D's keep stirring. I know because I did already years back..

Could be that Mueller leaks information to his good friend James Comey, who leaks to his professor friend (Daniel Richmond) at Columbia University. Richmond becomes an "unnamed" or "reliable" source for the NYT and WashCompost. Probably is paid $$$ for each exclusive he delivers.

She requested to unmask more than others in her position from previous administrations?

You do realize that she can request as many as she likes, it's the intelligence committee who decides after its own independent review. One would think based on the criteria that each request has to be pretty specific.

"We [the NSA] apply two criteria in response to their request: number one, you must make the request in writing. Number two, the request must be made on the basis of your official duties, not the fact that you just find this report really interesting and you're just curious,” he said in June. “It has to tie to your job and finally, I said two but there's a third criteria, and is the basis of the request must be that you need this identity to understand the intelligence you're reading."

Perhaps she found something y'all don't like:

Power has agreed to meet with the Senate and House intelligence committees as part of the Russia probe. She is expected before the House committee in a private, classified session in October.

Here's the kicker:

That brings up another point: "unmasked" does not equal made public. The surveillance reports containing the names of Trump and his aides were still highly classified and viewable by a limited number of cleared individuals

Everything we know, regarding who's being investigated, raided, wiretapped, etc.. comes from LEAKS from Mueller's team.

And former CIA Director Brennan was questioned by Trey Gowdy about this, he said he couldn't recall any US Ambassador asking for "unmasking"
Either he has advanced dementia and cannot remember over 260 instances requesting unmasking or he is lying to cover up the crime of using the unmasking for political gain needed by certain people to try to implicate Trump and/or his associates in false crimes in order to cause Trump to drop out of the election.

During a public congressional hearing earlier this year, Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina pressed former CIA director John Brennan on unmasking, without mentioning Power by name.

Gowdy: Do you recall any U.S. ambassadors asking that names be unmasked?
Brennan: I don't know. Maybe it's ringing a vague bell but I'm not -- I could not answer with any confidence.
Gowdy continued, asking: On either January 19 or up till noon on January 20, did you make any unmasking requests?
Brennan: I do not believe I did.
Gowdy: So you did not make any requests on the last day that you were employed?
Brennan: No, I was not in the agency on the last day I was employed.
