This is just breaking from CNN.

US investigators wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort under secret court orders before and after the election, sources tell CNN, an extraordinary step involving a high-ranking campaign official now at the center of the Russia meddling probe.

The government snooping continued into early this year, including a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Donald Trump.
Some of the intelligence collected includes communications that sparked concerns among investigators that Manafort had encouraged the Russians to help with the campaign, according to three sources familiar with the investigation. Two of these sources, however, cautioned that the evidence is not conclusive.

So there's that.

"Sources"

Then there's the lack of evidence gem

The surveillance was discontinued at some point last year for lack of evidence, according to one of the sources.

The FBI then restarted the surveillance after obtaining a new FISA warrant that extended at least into early this year.

Looks like Manafort was under investigation. Since 2014.

That's interesting. Especially coming from CNN since is doesn't lean to their agenda. If true, who ordered this? Obama?

Fruit of a poisoned, toxic tree that is anything done within the Obama years.

So should CNN be trusted....or.......?

Sources say the second warrant was part of the FBI's efforts to investigate ties between Trump campaign associates and suspected Russian operatives. Such warrants require the approval of top Justice Department and FBI officials, and the FBI must provide the court with information showing suspicion that the subject of the warrant may be acting as an agent of a foreign power

This is cute. Comey was well in the 'know' despite his sketchy facade. Lynch, Comey and Obama were well aware.

This comes as no surprise. Next comes the indictment:

The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, then followed the house search with a warning: His prosecutors told Mr. Manafort they planned to indict him, said two people close to the investigation.
mobile.nytimes.com...

The next question is, when will President Trump pardon Paul Manafort?

Will they have enough evidence for a "reasonable" prosecutor?

If Manafort is indicted, Trump CAN pardon him before the prosecution even presents their evidence.

To stop to prosecution, which may reveal some compromising information about the Trump Campaign, in its tracks.

Are we still speaking of legalities here?

Compromising information is a vague term.

There ya go! Trump Tower WAS wiretapped by Obama!

If Republican leaders weren't so full of Swamp juice, and scared of the MSM, they would have investigated this earlier in the year.

If there is something that Trump did that was illegal, pardoning Manafort will not stop the investigation. And Trump could be impeached.

Seems like someone like Paul Manafort would likely have a mobile/cell phone, and not be tied to land line out of his private home, that happened to be in Trump Towers.

I'm using the words that President Trump used. Wiretapping in this day and age is a very broad term.

Fine, but "wiretapping Trump Towers" is a not the same as monitoring a cell phone. Also, monitoring a private land line in a private residence that happens to be in Trump Towers, is not the same as wiretapping Trump Towers, speaking of broad terms.
