Just heard a voice coming from my laptop!!

Well this is messed up!...

Just now about 3 minutes ago i heard a male voice coming from my laptop. Now i only have ATS and a telecom company's free webtext page open. There is no video on either page.

I couldnt make out what the voice was saying it was so low, and the volume is up to 100% as i was watching a movie on my laptop last night. When i heard the voice i listened for a couple of minutes thinking "where is that voice coming from" I double checked both pages, no video's. The i leaned forward to try hear better and thats when the voice stopped!! As if im being watched (i took the cover off my camera yesterday too as i was taking photo's)

Now im in Ireland, on the Dublin/Wicklow border, i have some solid political leanings, but im not an activist.

Would TPTB make a mistake like that?

Is i hearing voices in ma head??? (NO, im of sound mind)

Any idea's ATS????

Possibly an ad on ATS. Some can play and not be obvious.

Or you're going insane.

It is not uncommon for certain ads running in browsers to have audio in them without being displayed on screen.
Experienced it myself, but to me it was obvious it concerned audio from an ad

Well if thats what it was, both replies say an ad, but there was def no ad showing.

The fact that it stopped when i leaned forward has me thinking otherwise...
Plus it was so low and the volume is at 100%???

As Jubei said, some ads are only audio ads. The sound could have stopped because the ad had finished and it's just a coincidence it happened when you put your head closer.

I have this issue on my PC speakes. Sometimes I can pick up a local ham radio operator's voice, and also a mexican radio station. I can only hear it once in awhile, but it is definitely my speakers picking up interference.

Perhaps this is the same situation for you.. although I'm not sure if a laptop speaker does the same as a desktop speaker.

I've had it a few times. It's those hidden ads no one tells you about. I think they trying to make us go crazy as we use ad-blockers now but they are always trying to find ways to get those ads into our head.

A possibility you should check out is that you picked up a virus. My sister's kid a few years back was downloading crap off the the internet and picked up dozens of viruses and adware on that computer. I finally gave up and formatted the hard drive and reloaded windows it was so bad. And part of what that garbage did was to get an audio stream off the internet and replay it over and over.

So yeah run an antivirus and a adware killer on it just to be safe and see what you may have picked up.

When alexa came into being I didn't get a choice. Amazon installed it on my kindle. I have nor enabled it but Alexa keeps trying. I will occasionally get a bright blue light at the bottom of the screen then it says " I'm having trouble connecting. I'll keep trying. " then the blue light fades. It's a female voice replicant.
