Trump Jr says he wanted dirt on Hillary from Russia to determine her fitness for office

Let's say Natalia told Trump Jr. she has Russian official documents about Hillary's corruption with Russia, maybe even taking bribes, I think in this case Trump Jr has every right to take these documents from Russia. These documents, had they existed, would have been of the highest degree in terms of national security. No manchurian candidate or agent of a foreign power should become president.

“To the extent they had information concerning the fitness, character or qualifications of a presidential candidate, I believed that I should at least hear them out,” he said. “Depending on what, if any, information they had, I could then consult with counsel to make an informed decision as to whether to give it further consideration.”

Even lifelong politicians can be criminals. Nixon as an example. Every candidate should be thoroughly checked in the election season. If some Russian lawyer claims she has official documents about Hillary's criminal activity, it should definitely be check out.

As a new graduate of Yale she fought for children with disabilities to provide transportation and education opportunities.

As first lady she instituted the children's health insurance programs that still helps children to this very day.

As senator in N.Y. she helped get 911 first responders the extensive health care they needed. And she secured the money needed for rebuilding NYC.

As secretary of state she fought for woman's rights and human rights around the world. She helped expand family leave time for military families to care for returning veterans. She fought for the rights of the LGBT community..
As a negotiator she managed to gain a cease fire between Israel and Hamas and she negotiated the toughest sanctions Iran ever faced.

I guess if you don't want to learn about her accomplishments you might have missed these.

I don't recall Trump jr passing a detective exam or being employed by any investigative agencies. So why again is it Trump jr's responsibility to vet Clinton? Also, what idiot would believe the son of a candidate's claims about the opposing candidate? And you are buying this load of horse manure? Sheesh... Opponents candidates do opposition research on one another in election. Intelligence agencies may be handicapped if their boss ahem the president is involved in the election to elect a candidate like ahem Obama was helping out Hillary.

Sure but to believe that is what junior was doing when he met with the Russians at trump tower is very naive.
He was planning their combined attack on a candidate so that Russia could gain favors and have sanctions relieved.

Candidates are not required to release taxes. This was started by Nixon in 1972 to prove he is not a criminal, which he was.
