Just remember, she does not think like you and that is a very good thing despite the fact it will be the source of many an argument. Big ones.

Any time she asks for something, say "Yes" and then outline the expense and trade-offs. Yes, we can have the new kitchen, but it will cost X and sets us back on college savings for the baby and we wont be able to take that vacation we were planning, but if it is important to you, I am a "yes".

Your job is to say "yes" and to inform her of the costs.

"Yes" I was an a-hole the other night. I will work on being less "reactive" and a better listener. Full Stop. Don't tell her you expect the same. You have to hope she is smart enough to reciprocate with self reflection.

The only time "No" should be uttered is when discussing other women. No, I was not checking out that woman's body, I was just surprised with her outfit choices. Who wears High Heels and a black short dress with that tiger patterned shirt?
