I am in same boat as you, really in the sticks so no Wallmart around me but if I was I would probably have been arrested for trying to disarm a fruitloop with a gun around children over a note book.Glad im in the sticks, hope you are to.Out of cigars but still have 1/2 jug bourban left.

There's the old saying about picking your fights. Choose your battles is another version and people still go to war over bugger all. Wired tight.

I'm confused, did she pull out the gun over a notebook, or was it because she saw her daughter getting brutalized over a danged notebook?

all I can say is that people are pretty sick to resort to violence over something so trivial as a danged notebook! can't wait to see what happens if we ever get to the point where people might have to go hungry a day or two!!

I stay away from Walmart as much as possible.

When I go to the local Walmart, they have 'rent-a-cop' security guards posted at the entrance/exits checking the receipts and shopping bags of patrons that are leaving to make sure that they didn't steal anything.

I can go to a Target store two blocks away without having to have my bags checked.

I don't need to shop at a store where they presume that you are a thief.

She was protecting her daughter..my wife teaches our daughter via k-12 program...so we avoid a lot of this as I pick up her school needs while I work.

I carry, but Im not willing to pull my piece over a notebook. Those that lose it over a dollar or two have nothing to lose...so youre better off, even when in the right, to walk away.

I will bet it was two large women attacking the 20 year old for the notebook and the young girls mother pulling the pistol on the two crazy ladies.

How many here would not defend their children??? but when somebody else does it it's walmart trash???

If this was about protecting a child,or anyone from harm would be one thing. But it is not.You are so correct about stomping on the purpose of the 2nd.There were multiple ways to avoid this confrontation to begin with.I am an outdoors man who loves to hunt my own protein so I am pro 2nd.This over a note book is just ignorant.

Stuff like this is why I avoid Walmart like the plague. I noticed even back in college in a smallish college town that something about the place either brought out the worst people or the worst in people, and I stopped going to it if I could avoid it.

Just wait until toilet paper is more important than gas... or water...

That's when the guns will actually go off.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Remember this video/incident. One day you'll WISH it was still like this!

....and this is tame compared to what's coming.

Not a doom porn kinda guy, but math is math.

Stay safe.

Things like that have been going on for decades. Used to be shootings at the shopping mall car park at Christmas because two motorists were fighting over the last parking space on Christmas Eve.

This is why ISIS will never attack a Walmart........those MF'ers are too crazy for a terrorist even.

I carry as well one of the reasons for my move to Vermont,no state carry laws. However somehow I would have resolved that situation without pretending I was Eli Wallach in a Wallmart with no bourban. The disturbing part for me is how the "adults" handled this situation.

Not surprised at this actually.

I'd seen some .....altercations.....in my own local Walmart over items before. Never with a fire arm pulled out, but I have seen people get ugly, and not during Black Friday but over school supplies.

One would think: what? Damn, just go to another store.....but in the case I'm thinking about, that wasn't going to help. Here's the story:

Local grade school teachers decided for a few years that they want their students to use a journal. No big deal, right? Well....actually yes.

You see the teachers at these different schools INSISTED that the journals must be a specific type. NO OTHERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Failure to provide your students with said specific journal will result in failing grades.

So what's the problem? Just go buy it...right?

Wrong: for some reason stores were not keeping large amounts of this specific type of journal in stock. They'd only order a few, and that was it.
The other problme: HOARDING. I actually saw parents buying 20 or more of these journals....pretty much buying up what the stores would supply.

Result? High frustration and desperate parents trying to provide a school supply that ended up being not available, and that teachers would not budge on......resulting in some pretty pissed off parents fighting over these things in the store.

Went through this myself.....until I started homeschooling.....no problems now in making sure my son has what he needs.

I dread the day when the hunger might kick in.Hunger is a great weapon and can turn friend to foe real quick.I watched the video a few times and the facts for me are a bit confusing.I guess what hit my nerve was in a public place with innocent people around a firearm was pulled over the last note book on the planet. There were four women arguing over it so maybe it had photo of Garth Brooks on the cover. Crazy stuff.

Part of me thinks America is crazy and what a waste of the 2nd A. Those Forefathers didn't foresee this one

Or are people like this the real force behind humanity's success? Notepads, smart TVs or those Buzz Lightyear toys people were warring over to take home to the cave. When the SHTF, these are the survivors and I'm only half-joking. No English manners and politeness; it's first blood and conquer the competition. We are Sparta!

Like this video with the woman being taken down and cuffed by two cops. Does she let go of that boxed TV? Hell no

Back in the city-states period, put simplistically:
Sparta could not exist without Athens.
Athens could not exist without Sparta.

Now,
Bloated folk steer their ironclad fatscooters down isles of indulgence, scowling at those cutting them off from grabbing another BIG BAG of Doritos at "the wal*mart".

But yeah, keep the gun at home when school shopping. Everybody wins in the end. Don't believe the whole "Muslims are penetrating our wal*marts, so I has to carry a gun, and them colored folk are sneaky, too"

Geeziz you must live in Ohio Kentucky or Indiana as well. Damn scooter shoppers with their 128oz sodas in tow...grabbin weight watcher frozen dinners, 24 pack of "diet" soda and all the garbage their basket can hold.

In my area folks own their own personal scooters and tow them around on their trailer hitches.

Sad
