The ObamaCare Industrial/Political Complex is now so entrenched, and raking in so many of our taxpayer dollars, that everyone who pays taxes, and/or has ObamaCare health insurance, is about to be screwed, more than ever before, by our elected politicians and U.S. health insurance companies.

Select Excerpts From: m.washingtontimes.com...

The danger of a Republican bailout of Obamacare is mounting with every passing day. A group of “moderate” Republicans calling themselves the Problem Solvers Caucus, is quietly negotiating with Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to throw a multi-billion dollar life line to the Obamacare insurance exchanges.

This bailout, of course, would be an epic betrayal by a Republican Party which has promised to repeal and replace the financially crumbling Obama health law.

Republicans who are “negotiating” this bipartisan deal, such as Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, object to the term “bailout” for this rescue package. The left prefers the euphemism “stabilizing the insurance market.”

The hypocrisy here is towering. The Democrats on this bi-partisan commission are the same people who told us over and over again that Obamacare was going to “bend the cost curve of health care down.” These are the same people who promised that Obamacare was going to “save” the average family $2,500 a year in lower insurance premiums. (If Obamacare were lowering insurance costs, there would be no need for these bailout funds in the first place.)

These were also the same people who swore to us that Obamacare wasn’t going to raise the federal deficit by a dime. Oh really? Where is the $20 billion to pay for this new federal subsidy going to come from, year after year? Pixie dust?

Personally, I'd like to know what last minute gifts were given to Senator John McCain to make him suddenly change his mind and vote against the "skinny" ObamaCare repeal bill. Maybe health insurers, or some other entity, promised free healthcare for his family for generations, after he's gone. Something major happened at the last hour to make Senator McCain sellout his Arizona constituency, and trash his own personal integrity. Changing his vote from YES to NO at the last minute, killed the ObamaCare repeal bill.

Also, these heartless politicians and insurance companies are TOTALLY IGNORING the millions of individuals and families who are forced by law to buy ObamaCare health insurance!

The deductible is already a disgusting $7,100 individual/$14,300 family. On January 1, 2018, it will increase to $7,350/$14,700. The average monthly premium is going up 20% nationwide...AGAIN. It was announced over the weekend that 55% of Virginia residents will be losing their Anthem Blue Cross health insurance at the end of this year. Due to ObamaCare regulations, the company is losing too much money, and doesn't want to risk NOT getting bailed out by taxpayers in 2018.

2018 Premium increases in major metro areas: www.kff.org...

Our elected politicians and insurance companies, are like drug addicts. All they want is their next "fix" of taxpayer money, in ever larger doses. If someone has to lose their life savings, or even their life, well...that's too bad.

As taxpayers in this country, we all have something in common with President Trump. We're getting slammed, and it's partially our own fault. But what can you do? In America, we have to have politicians, and most of us have to have health insurance.

The thing that makes me sick...and what Obama is probably laughing about right now....is that he and the rest of the Dem-wits that got this monstrosity passed KNEW that in early 2017 this was going to happen. But Obama would be kite surfing in the Virgin Islands or hiding out in Indonesia writing his book when the hammer came down....perfect timing.

I thought Obamacare would be a start in the right direction when it started. I was wrong. They threw so much garbage into Obamacare that feeds money to the medical and pharma industry and also the psychiatric industry that it got way out of hand. Now these industries have convinced way more people that we need to keep giving them money and take medicines and do tests that we do not need. Colonoscopies are the big money maker now, so are drugs that weaken people like Statins.

What can we do. Make signs and march to the white house. Others have and I've seen nothing come of it. Did those woman get what they wanted when they marched? I haven't heard anything new.

What if everyone of us. Stops paying for health insurance. Granted they can get a small amount in trouble but if the whole nation at once stopped paying for health. They can't throw us all in jail. Or sue us. It has to be all of us. With one voice...

Me myself. I don't have health. If something happens to me. I'm screwed. The navy granted me free five years. I don't know what happened but I was never enrolled to it. It didn't bother me much either. Someone else who needs it can have it. Now I'm a janitor. I make about 15 a year before taxes. It's more like 12. Which is cool. I can't afford it. Way to expensive that my company grants us. And I don't make enough for the government to charge me that yearly penalty. I know I'm not the only one. What we need is 51 a year average Americans to say no. And stop paying.

If all us do it....who knows what could come of it. It's time for the slaves to med to stand up and say enough is enough.

Wishful thinking though?

They don't need gifts..

The threat getting blamed for a couple of million people loosing insurance is doing that all by itself..because they know NO MATTER what regulations they kill prices won't drop a penny..

Why in the hell people think "if they only deregulated the big insurance companies they would just take care of everything.." I have no idea..

The big insurance companies created this problem.. it isn't even hard math..

We are letting someone who doesn't preform a medical function take 30% off the top of every dollar spent on healthcare...

Without them instantly .. day one . With zero changes all prices drop 30%...

The problem is the GOP has been spouting that removing them from the equation is SOCIALISM!!! Scary..

So the insurance companies keep getting written in...as if their board of directors is more trustworthy than our politicians..

Bailing out the insurance companies is the only thing stopping them from doubling prices again...

If the subsides and regulations stop they make less money.. that means prices go up..

The problem HAS ALWAYS been allowing for profit insurance companies to completely run our medical industry...

Not that "we are just so mean to the big insurance companies that they have to charge us more..."

The day before Obama got elected everyone knew insurance companies were the devil..

How people forgot that I have no idea.

The problem has always been the insurance companies...

You can't let a middle man who doesn't preform a medical function take 30% off the top of every dollar spent on healthcare and wonder why prices are too high....

We as people need a solution to our fup. We can't expect our government to do anything about this though.

We need to come together and figure out a solution to this. How about us. We keep talking on this site. We see the issues. We know the fixes. So let's do something about this.

Not paying it is easy. Just stop paying it. It won't take long. Month can go along way if they stopped making money.

I'm now torn between two beliefs regarding the crafting of ObamaCare.

1.) The Democrats who crafted it didn't know what they were doing, beyond screwing the public. (Search: Jonathan Gruber. Also, the attorneys who wrote the language, had a hell of a time converting the "desires" into written words.)
-or-
2.) The Democrats who crafted ObamaCare, designed it to blow up on purpose at some point in the future. I'm starting to doubt this, however. President Obama wouldn't want his legacy to crash and burn like that.

You're describing a part of the ObamaCare Industrial Complex referenced in the OP article. Those industries have Santa Clauses, with bags full of money and favors, who literally live on Capitol Hill.

Add to the Colonoscopies, CAT Scans as huge money makers. A local hospital charges $7,000 just for the scan...and it almost always does its job of finding at least one "red alert" (aka: money making) medical condition somewhere in the human body.

If you live in an ObamaCare "Medicaid Expansion" state, you are entitled to Medicaid health insurance. Taxpayers will pay your premium, and the costs for your medical care, when you need it. Since you're a taxpayer, you'll be partially taking care of your own Medicaid coverage.

The "scouts" (aka: Senator Marco Rubio) only blocked 1 of 3 components.

One of the two remaining funds set up for "insurer protection" is almost broke. It was designed so that the ObamaCare insurance companies that made money, had a portion of their profit go into a fund that is distributed to those who lost money. Since almost every ObamaCare health insurance company in the country is losing money. There's nothing being added. The well is almost dry.

Even with the bailout pools flush with cash, average premiums went up 105% from 2013 to 2017.

One of the hundreds of rules in the Affordable Care Act is one called "Medical Loss Ratio". MLR says that ObamaCare health insurance companies have to spend 80% of their revenue on paying medical bills. 20% is the maximum allowed profit, after expenses.

This provision is one reason why health insurance premiums increased so dramatically. The higher the premiums, the larger amount of money that 20% represents.

Also, people who don't have health insurance at work, or don't work at a regular job, tend have higher medical costs.

What's fascinating is that even with the bailout funds, and doubling of premiums, 60% of the health insurance companies who were gung-ho about ObamaCare in 2013, are now out of ObamaCare. 50% of those in ObamaCare now, will not be, on January 1, 2018. They all lost money. (This includes the "Public Option" companies that were set up in 23 states, to appease the liberal wing of the Democratic party. Only 2 of those 23 are left. The other 21 went flat broke.)

No choice left.

They have to start taking an extra 12% from all payroll checks.

Somebody has to pay.

I TOLD YOU SO I TOLD YOU SO I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's bittersweet that I say these words.....

Years ago I said, on this very website, that obamacare was a last ditch effort for insurance companies, much like Cash-for-Clunkers and the bank bailout: Pass a bunch of laws and regulations to stimulate these private companies, and make it easier (in the case of the banks) or persuade/force people to buy their product. Once that approach inevitably fails, there will come a bailout.

Banks were forced to allow mortgages at too low of rates and able to loan to anybody. That didn't work, so it was time for a bailout.

Cash for clunkers was designed to persuade people into buying new vehicles and to eliminate older (better made) vehicles.... Have people come in with their older car (which also happened to be user repairable, with decent gas milage and longevity unparalleled by today's vehicles), dump liquid glass into the engine to destroy it, then ship the old vehicle to the junkyard, and qualify for a new one with 10% better fuel economy. That didn't stimulate the car companies enough, so they were given a bailout.

I knew this was coming since the day it was proposed. I sung it form the rooftops, I told everyone I knew, posted it on here and on Facebook... and now it's happening.

In late 2009, I attended seminars where the presenters described how ObamaCare would not be able to sustain itself. A hybrid system of Medicaid-Medicare-Private would be cheaper and better for Americans under age 65.

If you're referring to the Cadillac Tax, it will make ALL working Americans feel the pain of ObamaCare. I believe its implementation date is 1.1.2019. Democrats felt that ObamaCare would crash and burn without that huge tax. As it turns out, they were right!
