I can understand why the new merged company would want to offload their toxic assets.

If we each put a dollar in, we could buy it.
I mean their brand has such negative value it offsets all their assets, so it can't be worth more than 10 bucks.

Someone should just buy it and call it the Fake News Network just for the hell of it.

in order to get the most money in a sale they want to get their ratings as high as possible even if it means going full retard and just making # up.
The possibility of being sued for slander doesn`t even enter the equation because by the time a lawsuit like that makes it`s way through the court system, AT&T will own CNN and AT&T will be left holding the bag for any slander judgment.
The CEO and stockholders of CNN will make a nice profit and AT&T will be left to clean up the mess that CNN has made of the network with a year of lies and slander.
