Based on what we've seen in the past 8 years, you're right. But the alternative is to have a dictatorship. If he/she is a good one, everybody wins. If not, most citizens will lose.

Sometimes I think a dictatorship is the only way to accomplish anything. Not what I want, of course, but unfortunately true.

Our laws, policies, ways of life have been reduced to a battle between redshirts and blueshirts. No one (perhaps a couple) is interested in advancing the United States, they are only interested in winning this political game for themselves or their "team".

Anyway, I'm thread-drifting so I'll be quiet. Simply-put, switching political affiliation because you view one side as "winning" is ridiculous. If you yourself have a change of heart concerning basic/fundamental ideals - ok, then. Personally, I don't even want to know an individual's party. I want to know the individual.

west virgina will always have their nose so far up the presidents ass regardless of what party the president belongs too.
