Somehow you're not getting the latest imagery then. I'm not using the pro version of Google Earth, just the free version, though I wouldn't expect the free version to have more up-to-date imagery, but that seems to be the case here for some strange reason.
When I go back to the 2005 imagery yeah it doesn't show much, as you noticed.
