the one I had, you lost that money at the end of the year and had to start rebuilding it back up if I am remembering right?? so, you'd never really build up enough to actually make much of a difference if you ended up needing some serious medical attention. this was years ago though, maybe they changed it.

Yeah, that's it. Its pretty much effectively catastrophic insurance only. Its priced just right that you'll never get any use out of it unless your 'world is ending' level of medical catastrophe.
