I heard somewhere that every Swiss adult has to own a gun.
Is ammo that hard to find in Europe?

Nice to see so man mocking the guy, he apparently lives rough and we do not know what made him snap, also the image's of him are probably misleading and he may be larger than he look's on them.
Why target an insurance firm?.
Was this an attack because he blame's them for his predicament or was this just a random attack by a lunatic.

Oh and Decdel that statement was literally out of your nether region's you have no way of knowing his social belief's or his political allegiances and also remember you also do not know the social belief's or political allegiance of his victim's either but remember kindly would you that a system in which freedom of belief is not allowed is a fascist or totalitarian system (And you do know that Hoovers action's in the US in which he actually perverted his own agency fall squarely into these categories - he and his servant's broke the US own law's by prosecuting people for there political belief's "THERE BELIEF'S" - fair enough if they were actual traitors passing secret's THEN FINE but he had no business poking into ordinary people's lives or creating a propagandist state and entrenched propaganda lain belief system complete with school years indoctrination education that created a whole generation of brainwashed zombies and that still lingers today with your opinion being that of one of the sheep he so shaped, I mean for god's sake man what else could you call that boy fiddling mafia blackmailed weirdo than a tyrant, a fascist whom given political office would have broken almost all of your constitution's right's).

This mad man is dangerous, crazed and likely will kill himself or die in a siege with the police or be shot dead when they corner him.

Weird story. But with all the varieties of weapons used these days, hopefully it will take the pressure off of the attack on guns. Now, from the OP link, I have brought these pieces of info over.

Mr Wrousis, who has two previous convictions for weapons offences
***
On Monday afternoon, police said the vehicle he was believed to be driving - a white Volkswagen - had been found
***
People living near the woods just outside the city confirmed to Switzerland's 20 Minuten (in German) that Mr Wrousis had been living in the area for at least a couple of weeks.

But interesting to note, although the last excerpt above claims Mr. Franz Wrousis has been living in the area for at least a couple of weeks, the date on the photograph is this: 03 04 2017. Now that could be 03/04/17 or 04/03/17, but regardless, it is much more that a couple of weeks. Is it from a different area?

So who took those pics and why does the media have them? He has two previous convictions of weapons offences. He looks to be in need of some mental health help. Why isn't he locked up, in treatment etc.

****************

Yeah, just checked on some other sites:

Police are currently searching for Wrousis, who is being described as being 6′ 2″ tall, with an unkempt appearance
. You'd never guess from the photos that he is that tall.

To be fair, mandatory ownership does not equal mandatory carry. That said, no, it's not a mandate that every Swiss adult must own a gun. Every Swiss male must undergo military training, and at the end of that training, has the opportunity to purchase the rifle on which they were trained, but there is no mandatory ownership.

Not many sympathies from me--dude hacked up people with a chainsaw. What made him get to that point is irrelevant when dealing with the culmination of that journey.

If caught alive, hopefully he gets the help that he needs. If he's not caught alive, whether it be at the hands of a civilian, LEOs, or himself, then it is what it is.

I'm just being honest: You spread pain and terror like this on unsuspecting, innocent people, you forfeit your right to me giving much care about how it ends for you.

What's that overused cliché? Oh yeah: Play stupid games, yadda yadda yadda

Dude wrote the ending to his own story at this point.

You're not going to lecture me if I say something about Tom Jones wanting his hair back, are you?

Having lived briefly in Switzerland, I can attest to the truth of your statement.

I would add, that 99% of those firearms are kept at home with trigger locks and I'd guess that 50% or more are only used again for reserve training.

Interesting now that I think of it, but I don't recall any hunting in Switzerland whatsoever.........skiing, sailing and soccer seemed to be the most popular sports.

Thank you for the info. I was wondering why nobody put some lead in him before he got close enough to get a lick in .

Those pictures might be the sort of photos a social worker of some sort might take? Maybe?

As for his physical strength? Looks can be extremely deceiving. In my experience, being tossed 10 feet by a hopped up dude about half my size/weight, apparent size means nothing when, or if, they're on something...or just generally really pissed off at the world.

Chainsaws aren't that heavy, in any case.

Odd choice of weapon, though...not real concealable.

To be quite frank I have no sympathy for this guy at all but hey if that is Tom Jones hair then don't you think the old welsh crooner would look better with it than without it.

Now joking aside I doubt many woman would throw there knickers at this guy, he look's like he is mentally challenged to me but could as other's have pointed out just be stoned or otherwise drugged up to his eyeball's when that photo was taken.
