Chester From Linkin Park has Committed Suicide

Just heard this on the radio. Another terrible suicide.

Law enforcement sources tell us the singer hanged himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in L.A. County. His body was discovered Thursday just before 9 AM.

Chester was married with 6 children from 2 wives.

Chester was very close with Chris Cornell, who himself committed suicide by hanging in May. Today would have been Cornell's 53rd birthday. Chester wrote an open letter to Chris on the day of Chris' suicide.

Feel bad for his friends and family.

I grew up with LInkin Park and i still listen to some of their older songs and i don't know how i feel about this. Leaving 6 kids and 2 wifes behind is a pretty selfish move but wasnt he diagnosed with throat cancer or something? # i'm so out of the loop with the music biz these days.

Sorry but it is true. Alot of different sources are now reporting on it.

Literally listened to linkin park religiously when they first came about think I was 17/18 I'm now 32 and still listen to them .. probably been the only time news of a celeb has shocked me

No, people have demons and struggle with mental health and substance abuse issues regardless of fame.

Money/fame doesn't cure depression, or pacify one's demons. Depression Is serious business.

The singer struggled with drugs and alcohol for years. He had said in the past he had considered committing suicide because he had been abused as a child by an older male.

Yeesh... I just downloaded his song "Heavy" last night... I think it just released this year, and they had a tour coming up.

Media report said his friends intervened in his recreational drug use.
They made him chose between being Chester or that F'ing guy.

I discovered alot of similarities between me and their tracks over the years. I know it's from the Minutes to Midnight album but i like this song and i'm not ashamed to admit it.

Those poor 6 children.

My heart and prayers go out to them.
