""WASHINGTON — President Trump said on Wednesday that he never would have appointed Attorney General Jeff Sessions had he known Mr. Sessions would recuse himself from overseeing the Russia investigation that has dogged his presidency, calling the decision “very unfair to the president.”

In a remarkable public break with one of his earliest political supporters, Mr. Trump complained that Mr. Sessions’s decision ultimately led to the appointment of a special counsel that should not have happened. “Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else,” Mr. Trump said.""

There's much to be disappointed about with AG Jeff Sessions. He's a nice guy, but I think he's too connected to the Washington "swamp", and, quite frankly, mentally "over-the-hill" for the job of being President Trump's pit-bull. (Like Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch were for Barack Obama.)

One of the few honorable things I have ever seen Sessions do.

ETA

Just thought of this - is Trump floating a trial balloon to fire Sessions? Meuller?

What is going on here with this interview? Is this a threat?

Huh!

Still not a damn word about Clinton and the Obama Admin using USPS workers for her campaign on taxpayer dimes.

I Also wish Trump had not appointed Jeff Sessions to Attorney General.

He is a dinosaur when it comes to drug policy It would be nice if Trump canned him

and got some one to replace him that had a more contemporary stance on cannabis.

Screw Sessions. I would love to see him replaced.
Men of his type of mind need to go the way of the dinosaurs.

So Trump is angry because he wanted to have sway over the investigation, which he would have had if Sessions was running it.

How many times does Donald Trump have to admit something is going on before people hear it?

I think it was a mistake as well. Too many inconsistencies. i dont know where he stands deep down. He is either one of the good guys without a spine or he is dirty and in bed with the rest of the pedophiles on some level.

Did President Trump voice any "regrets" before firing James Comey? I don't recall.

If Sessions was smart he would be all over this. Trump is right. He picked an imbecile for an AG

Sessions is certainly and has always been a horrible pick. However, he's horrible for almost any other reason than his choice to recuse himself. That was basically the only honorable choice he's made so far being that he was caught lying about his own past contact with Russia which he forgot to mention.

The fact that he recused himself from any investigation involvement was the right thing to do. He was part of the Trump Campaign and did in fact meet with someone from Russia which he "forgot about" until he could no longer avoid it coming out.

The fact that Trump is using Sessions single honorable decision so far as the reason to remove him is pretty telling right there. Why not just come right out and say, "I don't like him now because I thought he'd help me cheat. Now that he can't help me do shady stuff I don't want him around."

That's basically what Trump is suggesting.

I agree the leave is a serious violation of the Hatch act. However, I believe it was unpaid leave.

Sessions thought he was doing the right thing. In a normal world, perhaps he was.

However, when battling democrats in this day in age, playing fair only makes you look like the fool. They don't.

It's called a "pit" for a reason, here and elsewhere.

And still required USPS supervisors to approve- KNOWING what it was for, leaving stations shorthanded. Perhaps some people didn't get mail those days. That's acceptable to you?

I said it was a serious violation. People will get suspended for months, supervisors will be fired, and executives might go to jail.

Where did I indicate that any violation of the Hatch act is ok?

Chill out, trigger (Like the horse, not the snowflake - well no, like the snowflake).
