The other point is :

You are supposed to win the war in order to judge the culprit with the 'crimes' your propaganda has blamed them with in order to justify the intervention.

Perhaps. I'm just glad we have a new president who isn't beholden to the old president's nonsense, and isn't afraid to pull the plug on a misguided (at best) operation.

I was about to give him credit for that but, he recently contradicted himself with his warmongering statement against Venezuela :

Trump says he’s considering military response to Venezuela

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Donald Trump said Friday that he's considering possible military action against Venezuela in response to the country's descent into political chaos following President Nicolas Maduro's power grab.

Speaking to reporters at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club, Trump bemoaned the country's growing humanitarian crisis and declared that all options remain on the table - including a potential military intervention.

"We have many options for Venezuela and by the way, I'm not going to rule out a military option," Trump volunteered, adding, "A military operation and military option is certainly something that we could pursue."

How cynical ...

Venezuela's a different situation. They have a fascist leader who is literally rewriting the constitution to give himself unlimited power, while society melts down around him and people starve. Libs the world over are trying hard to ignore it, but this is a situation where a well-placed cruise missile or two could do the country a lot of good.

Nope sorry, this is same good old US BS at play here :

There is an ongoing economical being waged against Venezuela :

But Trump might be doing nothing but complying with the deep state requierments and making Tillerson happy :
Rex Tillerson's long, troubled history in Venezuela

The United States put an iconoclastic communist Stalin-wannabe in charge of Venezuela? The United States somehow made Venezuela expropriate numerous foreign-owned businesses, including businesses owned by US companies (such as General Motors)?

The United States forced Venezuela to totally mismanage it's oil program? The United States told Venezuela to embark on a program of ruthlessly suppressing dissident voices?

Sorry, not buying it. This is the story of Eastern Europe, transposed to South America.

Was it any better when the US puppet was in place ?
It only looked so because the MSM made no mention of the atrocities caused at the time :

Victims of Venezuela's Caracazo clashes reburied

3000 deaths ... Maduro still has a lot to learn from Carlos Andres Perez.
