Retired Green Beret warns there could be a nuclear strike against the U.S. soon

This whole North Korea thing will be interesting to view with hindsight at our disposal in a few years time. If the US wanted Lil Kim gone he would be gone. He is still there for some reason.

The US has attacked and invaded countries for years for doing much less than what Kim is doing now.

I don't know what the answer is. I do know that having millions of North Korean refugees on the Chinese and Russian borders will certainly not improve east vs west relations. If push comes to shove I feel that China would side with the Norks, and nobody wants world war 3 to break out over this. Well, maybe the MIC, but certainly not you or I.

Naw I do not buy the Nuke narrative, the end game is death for whoever fires.

If I was a megalomaniac in charge of some third world hole, I would pour my money into EMP type of weapon, then to make it as small as possible.

Then Pay some other third world hole cargo shipping company to ship it as close to the US as possible before firing, also I would not pay with cash use something harder to trace.

Use your fanatic type trained people to use the weapons when close enough take down large segments of the electrical grid, at the same time have saboteurs wandering the countryside blowing up transformers to help slow the rebuild time.

Sit back sip champagne while the Fed scrambles to get things back up probably attacking the wrong people in retaliation, and watch the US tear itself apart during the extended blackout.

Thing is you only need one Nuke exploded high enough the USA to take down all the electronics.



I would just work on putting a nuke into a Satellite and when it goes over the USA explode it knock it all out then I will invade in my Redcoat bow and sword!.

I remember reading a novel about it happening (all based on science) it scared me and I think it scared enough for things to be done about it.

i'm really impressed! given the recent climate in these parts, i came into this thread expecting a gung ho 'murican BOMB EM ALL attitude to prevail, but most everyone in the thread is actually being so rational there isn't really anything to add...

They are an odd thing nukes on one hand I'm terrified of them but on the other hand If no one had them would there be more conventional wars which may be as bad?.

Yea but with a nuke they will find out eventually where it came from and then that place will be vaporized, where an EMP will be harder to track.

My thinking was whats the point of using a nuke when the end result is you die, better to find a way that lets you wreck your enemy and enjoy life afterwards.

Pretty much can guarantee you that if the people et al were allowed to vote whether to "snap their fingers" to stop the factories for war producing all armaments they would vote for it in a heart beat. Especially the more insidious forms of weapons like Bio, toxic and especially nuclear weapons.

Thing is a nuke just one exploding so far above the earth wouldn't doany damage and the radiation would be spread all over in the upper atmosphere the only effect would be the EMP.
You can bet on both sides they would attempt to fire one over the enemy's country as soon as possible if a nuclear war started.

There is no rule of the universe that states a country must notify another before an attack. It make more sense to not mention it and use some surprise. I hope the day doesn't come when the world decides they have had enough of the US aggression.

I think that Russia wants to make the US look bad also. But attack China? I don't think that would be a good idea. China didn't threaten us, NK did.

Of course, since China is standing idly by while Lil' Kim continues to spout off, it could be they're just itching for a war with the U.S. but don't want to make the first move.

We can't keep going to the edge of the precipice and pull back repeatedly. If we do that often enough, eventually we'll fall in.

As I said previously, diplomacy and sanctions would be preferable if only they would work. Kim Jong Un has proven time and again that they will never respond to such actions. The Obama Administration probably appeared as a paper tiger to NK, and now it looks like the Trump Administration is nearly as bad.

If we continue stalling for time, that gives Kim Jong Un more opportunities to develop his WMD's. If we do a pre-emptive strike many will die. If we wait for Kim to make the first move, many more will die imho.

Either way we can't win.
