Re direct again this is not about Obama! Last ditch effort? What did we make him publish those damning emails? How come not one page goes by without you people bringing up something that has nothing to do with the topic. The storm is coming and the thunder is loud, but its coming for the trump admin.....they brought it on themselves!!!

He released those emails to be ahead of the media headlines. He knew the NYTs was gonna release evidence he met with a Russian lawyer
You can't start with speculation , call it fact and draw a logical conclusion. It can't be done.

Who says false pretenses?
Junior?
Lies like he was taught by his father.
Why were Russian agents discussing trump associates in correspondence way back in May of 2015? As discovered by intelligence agents who were listening at the time. So much that it raised a red flag . Before trump announced his candidacy.
In May of 2016 foreign intelligence agencies in europe reported that it appeared that funds were being funneled out of Russia into the presidential campaign fund.
Why are so many of the special prosecutors brought on by Rob Mueller experts in international money laundering schemes? Coincidence?? I think not.
A month after that this meeting, where no one seems surprised about the Russian government and discuss it like it's a common theme. Part of the attempt to help trump doesn't get a "what were the other parts" or seem to be a big deal. Here's something we really all know. Trump has many business partners in Russia. Lots of wealthy contacts and associates. Russia was a source of revenue.
Within hours of the receipt of this email trump was announcing a big speech he was planning about Hillary.
Of course he didn't deliver.
Fast forward to two weeks ago when it was revealed that an american claiming association with the trump campaign was actively soliciting for dirt on the Clinton's from Russian sources. These claims have not been disputed by the president or his administration.

'To Catch A Predator' routinely cooks-up all manner of phony stuff to convince some middle aged guy that if he shows-up at such-and-such address he can fool around with an underage kid. The guy shows-up, doesn't do anything, but gets arrested. Why? Because he showed INTENT to commit a crime.
Colluding with an agent of a foreign government is a crime. Donnie Jr. clearly showed he was giddily interested and he showed-up to commit the act. Whether he was setup, duped, or whatever is immaterial. He was ready, willing, and able to collude with an agent of a foreign government. Spin it however you like but that is what happened. He's either incredibly stupid or a biglie security risk.
And that's it. That's all you got. A meeting under false pretenses. Feel free to charge Trump Jr. with something, let the courts play it out, and then move on.
Trump is still Pres, Russia didn't vote him in.

Josh Douglas at the University of Kentucky Law School offered two other possible relevant statutes.
"Collusion in a federal election with a foreign entity could potentially fall under other crimes, such as against public corruption," Douglas said. "There's also a general anti-coercion federal election law."
In sum, legal experts mentioned four criminal laws that might have been broken. The key is not whether those statutes use the word collusion, but whether the activities of the Russians and Trump associates went beyond permissible acts.
