That's the crazy thing. Since when is it illegal to know Russians? The Trump family knows people through the various businesses,real estate, banking, beauty pageants, etc.
They've become friends with these people, rich people, some involved in politics...

It's getting so overblown on the news, that's it is starting to sound like it's completely illegal just to know a "Russian", in any way, shape, or form...and even the tone of this news these days, it's like a drama show, full of intrigue and outrage, yet devoid of factual accuracy

trump seems to be playing his role quite well also...
his latest "I love the Russians stunt" was the idea of joining forces with the russians against the cyber crimes such as those our intelligence agencies say they committed against us to compromise our elections!!
the only thing probably that caused him to take a detour from that was all the republicans in congress coming out against the idea!!

this whole thing might be a distraction to keep us occupied as they do things that they know we wouldn't support, like, oh, I don't know start passing a bunch of laws that will make it easier for them to drain our bank accounts and enrich themselves or whatever... but there is either something to the story and trump is doing his best to try to keep up his end of the bargain, or both sides are just putting on a huge sideshow and we should be looking real hard to find what it is they don't want us to see...

the idea that the dems just made up the story as an excuse for losing the election ranks done at the bottom of the list of possibilities.
it doesn't answer some important questions like...
why did so many on the trump team initially lie about the meetings with the russians when they knew that failure to fill out those forms truthfully and concisely could result in criminal charges.
why has the trump team dismissed the claims that russia was working to interfere with the elections and even now won't come straight out and say it?
why did trump reveal classified info to the russians?
why does he think it's such a grand idea to work with on cyber security issues, is this mutual destruction phase 2?
why won't he reveal his income tax info, or be more transparent with his business dealings?

The problem lies in the manner in which "Russian" is used. Is it the Russian government or is it any person or entity with Russian ancestry and or citizenship? When the narrative doesn't fit, the term "Russian" no longer represents the Russian government, its anything with ties to Russian culture, be that the nation or history.

Collusion in the legal definition is usually tied to price fixing. Now if someone can prove Jr and putin was trying to
fix the price of orphans or natural gas, then collusion could come into play.

The reason is pretty much you are not dealing with the usual doormat timid Republican that beholden to the establishment and the liberal media. It seems pretty obvious to me that Trump Junior violated federal statute 52 USC 30121, 36 USC 510

A foreign national shall not, directly or indirectly, make a contribution or a donation of money or other thing of value, or expressly or impliedly promise to make a contribution or a donation, in connection with any Federal, State, or local election.

No person shall knowingly solicit, accept, or receive from a foreign national any contribution or donation prohibited by [this law].”

Information that could be helpful to the campaign falls under the definition of "other thing of value."

Furthermore, it doesn't even matter if Trump Jr. actually received such helpful information, as he is clearly guilty of soliciting it.

If Junior's action can be tied back to his father, it is absolutely grounds for impeachment. If Junior was just out gallivanting of his own volition and Dad wasn't involved in the solicitation, not so much.
