Hitler made many many mistakes so I thought we could compile a list of them. Here are the ones I can think of off the top of my head:

Not wiping out the British army at Dunkirk

Attacking UK city's instead of RAF airfields and crippling the RAF

Invading Russia when the war in the west was unfinished.

Not giving German troops the equipment for a winter campaign in 1941

Failing to take into account supply's and logics in invasions.

Interfering with Generals who knew better.

Insisting on taking Stalingrad.

Dismissing Nuclear research as "Jewish" Research.

Declaring war on the USA.

The Holocaust.

Initially dismissing Jet Research ( Yes that happened, the ME262 could have been ready in 1942 if he had not obstructed it).

Demanding the ME262 be a bomber initially wasted time and it tactically.

Wasting time and resources on the pointless V-1 and V-2 Programs.

Cancelling a project for guided surface to air missiles in favour of the V program.

Keeping Herman Goerring in a position of responsibility even though he was corrupt and useless drug addict.

Refusing to use the Luftwaffe in defence of the German home land and instead sending it off to be destroyed piecemeal.

Who has more to add to the list?

The Maus Tank Program.

The Ratte Tank programs

Not taking Malta. Crimped supplies to Rommel which leads to....

Not giving Rommel enough support to take Egypt.

Not taking Gibraltar, sealing the Mediterranean Sea.

Focusing on Moscow and Leningrad when the real prize was the Caucuses.

Believing Britain would Ally with him vs Communist Russia.

How about not being a better artist, thus missing out on Art School. Also, not being killed in WW1, and then creating WW2?

One more.....the mustache. &$@# hitler

Hitler's biggest mistake was starting WW2 and taking on the British and their Commonwealth.

Let's face it, the rest is just history.

Firing or demoting half his general staff for daring to disagree.

Leningrad. He only wanted it because of the name, same with Stalingrad however he needed the Caucasus oil fields which Stalingrad was key to. Surround and starve out would have been the best policy there.

The wasted resources on various weapons programs instead of mass producing the excellent weapons at hand.
Sending Rommel to North Africa, it was pointless.
Building a surface fleet of 2 battleships, several pocket battleships and cruisers.
They accomplished little to nothing.
Should have built more submarines.

At one point Britain had less than a week's worth of food.
The battle of the Atlantic was being lost.
Had the Luftwaffe continued bombing British airfields the RAF was mere days away from being wiped out.
It was a very, very close run thing as you Brits like to say.

How about putting Paulus in charge of the 6th army at Stalingrad!

(but at least they didn't blow up the statue that is my avatar)

The biggest mistake in my estimation is his the German army's treatment of the farmers and Russian countrymen while rushing to Moscow.

The farmers hated Stalin, he crapped on them and then Germany crapped on them as well. They would have joined the fight to just to put the bone to Stalin. Truly a blunder that cost him Russia.

That brings to mind the fact that the Brits developed radar and apparently the Germans didn't, or hadn't perfected it. Which is probably why they couldn't take out the RAF; they were in the air before the bombers arrived. They could blow up the fields and buildings, but the landing strips could be bulldozed level and useable within just hours.

Yeah Speer pointed that out on his trip to see a industrial center in Ukraine.
They where cheering the Germans has liberators and it was safe for even a top riech minister to walk around without protection.

Then the SS came in and 6 months later half the population had turned into partasians and the areas was a danger zone in open rebellion........smart move Hitler....

Paulus was screwed whatever he did.

Only one to blame for that mess was Hitler.

You're probably correct, although most historians agree Paulus, an arm chair general of questionable loyalty and talent, was probably by far and away the worst possible choice Hitler could have made.

They definitely underestimated the advantage of radar. The brits had lots of warning where the German planes were heading.

I'm curious as to your reasoning to seemingly down play anything about the Third Reich the last two days. Is there an agenda here? Do I smell a holocaust denial in the offing?
