Hello Fellow ATS users worlwide.....If you could live anywhere where would it be?

Chicago is home and home is Chicago.
That said, Australia, Japan, and Chile look very interesting to visit.

Iceland, maybe Spain

I'm an American, and if I could up and move anywhere . . . it'd be France. Specifically, to Paris . . . Maybe live on the Seine in a barge like Duncan MacLeod. My specific purpose would be to open a bouquiniste along the Seine. But alas there is an 8 year waiting list to do so . . . so instead I am going to become a nomadic hermit running a bookstore out of a van and living in an RV.

I really love hearing what people would do and in what country if they could.

I have always played with the idea that when I retire I would to move to Switzerland or Denmark and join a commune in the forest near a fjord.

Of course what will probably happen is I will just work in my garden in good ole Tennessee and expand on it each year.

Would like to live in a place that's either uncomfortably hot, or terribly cold in winter.
With plenty of wildlife, that just want to take a chunk out of your flesh.
Where beasts are ready, willing, and able, to eat all of the produce you grow, just one week before you would harvest it.
When banditos will come to you, to see what they can take.

Wait: that's about where 90% of the world's population live...

That is the one of only two places in America that holds interest for me,New Orleans and the swamps+bayous,also the SouthWest,the "land of enchantment" Such a mystical,mysterious,totally fascinating region of America.I shall never have money for travelling outside my own country,but if i had been able to visit America,those would have been my 2 destinations.

I would have loved to visit Mexico also,but not to live just to visit- i love Mex food more than any other.

If i really seriously had to consider a permanent move,had we the money for that,i would pick Iceland or Russia.

I spend a lot of time each year fishing the Louisiana Marsh South of New Orleans as well as spend some time in the city as well. It is a great place to see and feel in the US. The culture and general vibe of the NO are great. The marshes and backwaters that make up the majority of the area outside NO are amazing. I'm a big fan of the Atchafalaya Basin as well... Would be a great place to get a house boat and disappear!!
