Life is a soap opera now

Just a thought.
Twitter, Face Crack (Book), social media in general
are real life soap operas, done in real time.
There are actors(Posters)
There is an audience(Lurkers)
But it is taken to another level,
cause the viewer can directly
communicate with the actor.

Add trolls, shills to make it interesting

If only we can have the elevator music that goes with it. Though I think that would make people more insane.

What do you think they've been conditioning us with years of reality TV drama for? Trump and the theatrics and drama he brings to the table. They got us addicted to it so that we would be addicted to this whole charade around Trump in my opinion.

Life has always been a soap opera. It's just now we can watch each others soap opera.

I agree with you to a point. We have been condition from birth. Well most of us.
I'm sure there's some old timers still around that weren't put in front of a programing device at an early age.
The whole governmental debacle is just the cherry on top.

This is true. Before this I'd guess the friendly neighborhood
fence meetings and public gatherings.

Life is not a soap opera. Soap operas are life. That's the whole point. Movies have high production values and compressed timelines with impossible feats and lots of FX. Soap operas emulate daily life as we live it.

I believe It's all about perspective.
From my origin of thought, TV invented soap operas.
Yes there were plays and dramas on film before TV,
but the term "Soap Opera" didn't appear till after the
invention of the programming box.

That doesn't contradict what I said. Soap Operas emulate life: Low production value, boring plots, unending "drama."

That 'whole charade' was designed by the Nazis, called news, sports and 'variety shows', to draw as wide an audience as possible, then imbue them with the political message they wanted.

Yea, I just got to thinking..........I have to wonder if maybe "Soap Operas" had their real start on the Golden Years of Radio? I wasn't alive for those years......so I really can't say.

Tv came about to occupy the minds of the masses

Reality tv came about because of the low production costs

Tv reality came about when the elite knew for certain the people had stopped considering the difference and accepted both on emotional response and entertainment value alone.

People would listen to programs before the programming box came into existence.

Actually TV realities of any type came about when the elite realized they had most of the folk "stupefied"
