A terrible tragedy, 42 year old Acrobat Pedro Aunion Monroy fell 100 feet to his death, in front of thousands while performing inside an illmuminated cube at a music festival. He dances inside the cube to Prince's Purple Rain.

The band Green Day performed immediately afterwards saying they were not aware of the accident until their performance was over.

An acrobat who plunged 100ft to his death in front of a 45,000-strong crowd at a Spanish music festival, was killed on the night that his partner had come to watched him perform live for the first time, it emerged on Saturday.

Fans watched in horror as Pedro Aunion Monroy, 42, fell to his death from a cube which had been hoisted above the stage as part of a tribute to Prince at the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid.

The 42-year-old had been performing at Mad Cool Festival in Madrid when he fell from a height of around 100 feet. The Spaniard, who appeared to be wearing a harness, was inside a box hanging from a crane.

Paramedics attempted to save the aerial dancer, but he died at the scene.

Did he simply forget to clip on his safety line or ... did the safety line break!

It had one job, one job and couldn't get it right.

The other possibility would be suicide.

We will have to wait until the investigation is completed.

Looks like he just dropped out of the cube and went straight down. I can't see it being suicude in front if his boyfriend who was there to see his stunt
Something failed in the harness but will have to wait and see.


Reports so far are saying the harness around his waist somehow just snapped and he fell
