Bro, you said it was in a dream. I have seen all kinds of beasts monsters and animals in my dreams, many that clearly could not really exist. it is probably your brain just creating things for your dreams from a combination of things you seen in movies, cartoons, games and books.

Sounds like the shape of a snowshoe hare. I can't think of anything else that fits that description.

A chinchilla is cute, they are cuddly too, but they do bite your fingers sometimes when you feed them. I grew up taking care of those critters, they make nice coats and stoles.

This girl I used to mess with had one. They're not large by any means, but not mouse size. They roll around in dust baths. That's about all I know about them.
