Wow.

I wanted to write a reply to the OP, but you did better than I would have done, I acknowledge that.

I just want to add some impressions Trump made on me at G20:
- nationalistic.
- protectionalistic.
- isiolationistic.

And he was a coward, spending the time everyone elses talked about the climate protection programmes (and USAs embarrassing role in it) talking IN PRIVATE with Putin. Even the two ministers participating told us different stories of what was discussed. But that was better than to be questioned about his plans to protect planet Earth.

What exactly was conceded?

Was it that Merkel will continue take up the banner of traditional Western leadership while the US goes it alone because that is what happened.

Merkel? Ha. History will be a harsh judge of her.

Her decision on Migrants. It's a rousing success eh? The history is already being written.

Which is why Trump was elected. Many of his detractors still insist he is a Globalist though. It will be interesting to see who is right, your impression of Trump (which I hope is correct), or those who insist he is a Globalist.

Seemed like an excellent trip, Trump stood his ground against the Global Elites, who don't GAF about the well being of the USA.

Yawn. We don't care what you think. Focus on your own leaders. And if you find Trump isolationist you have no idea what the word means.

How does everyone in the G20 still doing their own thing on PCT specifically as we rightfully ditched it equate Germny leading the Western World???

The US is still in the G20 isn't it?? So please explain how we are suddenly on the outside??? I been loling at my friend lately. he basically parroted CNN and actually believed that somehow Trump or the USA was some kind of outcast or shunned out of the circle.

Again, how so? The USA willingly and voluntarily withdrew from the Climate accord, and the rest of them still conceded to the USA being involved with future climate talks. BWHAHA, yea sure, thats passing the torch in the Twilight zone I guess.

How many military bases does German have in how many countries on Earth? How many Aircraft carriers do they have to project their force again?? Yea I thought not.

You got to have balls and fists to be a leader, as far as I see it the USA still has both more than anybody else out there with only Russia and China as competition as number 2 and 3.

Please cite where somehow USA appears weak or not in a position of leading??? Because as far as I have read it ll weekend, we got to have our cake and eat it too. Germany and the Rest of the G20 can claim what they want when they can actually land forces on multiple theaters across the globe and maintain the logistics for doing so at the drop of a hat for an indefinite period of time.

Germnany leading the West, MY ASS!

As the American Taliban? Except for killing people they really aren't that much different from them.
They hate the government.
They want to control women's bodies.
They want to deny rights to gays. This shows Trump isn't in charge as people think because if you look back at Trumps past he's one of the most gay friendly persons to hold office.
Undeterred by facts. The list keeps going on there was a show on tv that talked about the tea party but the same applies to Donnie's followers.

Every extremist white group pretty much lined up to vote for Trump and seeing how the right loves to paint all liberals with the same brush then the same must be done with Trump followers.

Because the world doesn't have confidence in Trump.

Is Germany in debt as deep as America? Yeah thought not.

Sorry but draft dodging cowards have neither balls nor fists.

They are not going to follow a idiot. Time and again Trump has shown his ignorance on even the most simple of things.

That sounds good to me.

America has always been and hopefully will always be an alternative to European socialism and authoritarianism. No one wants America to be Europe. That is why people came here and still want to come here.

Amen. When did "American Exceptionalism" become "bad thing"? I thought we learned after Dubble-Dub Doozels

As long as American Exceptionalism doesn't include exporting good jobs-switching to a service econ-pricing essential services above anyone's ability to pay and systematically removing freedoms to insure our safety. Then ya you are right.

That's not American Exceptionalism, that's Globalism.

Some of Trumps most ardent supporters here on ATS aren't
Americans at all . They are Chinese and Russian paid trolls pushing state sponsored propaganda on the unwitting .

I think there are three openings at CNN for folks who see Russians behind every tree...

Well, I'd rather our government be Nationalist rather than Globalist, you know putting American workers first, but that could just be me.

Agreed. There are huge advantages to have a balanced trade policy. And if Trump does just that little thing, he will be a success.
