Normally when I see a headline stating that top Republicans are working to prevent President Trump from being re-elected, I dismiss it as fake news from Liberals.

So it was surprising to see conservative publication "American Today" explain very logically, how all signs (thus far) indicate that our Republican-Controlled Congress is INTENTIONALLY sabotaging President Trump's agenda (and hurting American citizens in the process), solely to reduce his chances of being re-elected in 2020.

Key Excerpts:

""Whereas President Trump has aggressively moved to relax onerous economy-killing regulations by Executive Order, he must work with Congress to fulfill his promise to repeal and replace Obamacare and to cut taxes and simplify the tax code.  All three are essential to attracting investment – and the jobs that comes with it – by corporations large and small.

And herein lies the proof that “Conservative” majorities in both Houses of Congress are a mirage.  Speaker Ryan and Majority Leader McConnell have accomplished the ultimate bait and switch scam.  Ryan and McConnell both promised to repeal Obamacare – only repeal not replace – and to cut taxes during their campaigns and for the six years before that.

There can be only one reason for denying President Trump the legislation America needs to once again become the economic beacon of the world.  If Trump’s policies were instituted to the benefit of the masses his re-election would be a certainty.

Republican leadership remains committed to Obama’s globalist worldview.. and Trump’s ability to connect directly with the American people is an impediment to those plans.  Ryan and McConnell, and too many in their flock, want him out and they will continue ignoring the United States economic decline if that’s what it takes to turn Trump into no more than a one-term president.""

Republicans haven't held this much power in D.C. and across the U.S. since 1928! (people.com... ) IMO, there's no way the Republican Congress has been dead-in-the-water these past 6 months by accident.

What do you think ATS family.. Do top Republicans share the same #1 goal as every Democrat...to "Stop Trump"? What evidence do you see, one way or the other?

The establishment Republicans are doing what they have always done...... Their Big Donors Will.

They will not repeal, they will perpetuate in favor of Big Insurance and Big Pharma

They will not lower taxes as promised

They will not do anything they campaigned on if it is not approved by their Donors.

They scream when they are in the minority that they cannot get things done for us but when they are given all 3 branches they do nothing.

Congress is NOT for the people. They are for the corps.

If a repubs says something there is a reason-more than likely money-reelection $$$ or a promise of a seat on a board after they serve.

If a dem says something read above statement-they are the same.

anyone who is a dem do or die or repub do or die is a poo poo head.

Naturally the Republicans wouldn't admit it. But your explanation makes quite a bit of sense, considering how they don't even try to make excuses. It's like Republicans are just delaying, fidgeting, and floating empty promises to get re-elected in 2018. That "strategy" has worked well for them the past 8 years.

Many people have long said the NWO is one team. There are no democrats and republicans anymore in theory----just a bunch of socialist, elite globalists working hard to chain all off humanity

Their only saving grace is that they do almost nothing for us but are not driven to totally screw us as much (or maybe as quickly) as the other party as they have no problems driving their agenda in the least.

You don't think that failure to act on the promises of their elected party leader (President Trump) will cause Republicans to lose their Senate and/or House majority?

Or that they don't really care, as long as their #1 goal of denying Donald Trump a second term is achieved?

If you're right, then maybe the G20 Protestors are on to something, and should be paid attention to.

They talk a good game, but are just as corrupt and power hungry as the Marxist democrats.

All we got during Obama was a corrupt GOP and a corrupt DNC pretending to hate each other while padding each others pockets at the expense of the American taxpayer. One reason why one of the good ones get up and walk out while they conduct their fake "working for the people" routines. Capital Hill needs to be turned into "rubble Hill" and then rebuilt with trustworthy people again.

So that's all it takes to flip you guys? Fake news ceases to be fake when reported by the right?

The left sided media have been the ones caught lying and faking news. Even still today.

They were trying everything they could to keep him from winning this term. Of course they're going to try and hamstring him before 2020.

Of course that is what is happening. It started that way in his campaign. The GOP and DNC thought Trump was just a joke. I guess the joke was on them.

Now what needs to happen is that all Trump supporters need to start calling their representatives at least twice a week in the beginning, telling them they will not be re elected unless they start getting on board.

If they receive enough calls they might rethink their position. If not, lobby against them.

President Trump has surrounded himself with establishmental Republicans. I think they have him in a bubble. I have always thought after President Trump built his cabinet that he was just a placeholder for Vice President Pence. Of course this has been my own pet theory.

If President Trump isn't hamstrung by 2020 Vice President Pence will be hung out to dry politically.

It really is interesting times. President Trump and the non actions of the power the Republicans hold right now are really starting to magnify the corruption on both sides of the aisle.

What Trump should do is have his daughter run. Ivanka would win in a landslide no matter what they plan for Trump. They are geared against him and she is a separate person they haven't seen move very actively. Its been proven she is competent and a power player in her own right. Her conservative approach publicly so as to not hurt her father's presidency should not be taken as a sign that she is anything less than a Lion Babe.

Ivanka would be the first woman president no matter what other woman ran against her. She could also establish a new political party and have her fathers base transfer over to a new field to actually take numbers away from both existing parties without splitting those votes among all the smaller fringe parties.

It would be a mastermind move he should groom her for now. Then let her have at it completely independently. Her presidential run should be backed by funds he should be transferring into her estate now from other family assets.

Ivanka could be the next 2 term president and the new de facto party leader of the new majority once out of office.

The best of both parties should be encouraged to join the new one and those in public office should change their affiliation where possible.

Trump can still win the next election as he stands. He has gained new support since taking office while not losing his base.
