roofing companies in at least two states have adopted a bizarre marketing campaign in which customers who buy a roof get a free semi-automatic weapon as a bonus. Digital Roofing Innovations in Decatur, Alabama, is the latest to offer the special. The company released a campy, over-the-top ad on July 4 ― complete with short shorts, beers, and gunfire ― promising an AR-15 to anyone who orders a roofing job. Co-owner Zach Blenkinsopp, the scantily-clad star of the ad, promises it’s not a gimmick. “You’re gonna get you a free AR-15 rifle after we complete the roof. How’s that sound?” he says. “Donald Trump says, make America great again, I say, make America gun again.”

A gun is a tool just like a hammer or knife. Used improperly they can be dangerous. That being said this is no different than a free toaster give away to me. I fail to see anything strange here.

I would not buy a roof from this guy's company. If you pay someone to put a roof on your house, number 1 it is expensive and number 2 you need it done right.

This guy screams of short cuts and inferior materials. And he rubs me the wrong way and seems like a Dhead.

He is the owner, maybe hasn't done a roof in years. The owners are the people who make the real $$ in roofing, the proof is the way he is acting. Good for him if this business model works. I prefer an ak though.

Yeah...bs. Still need to clear a background check...an AR built is as low as 500$ up to 2k. A basic 4 sq roof being 6500 or so (shingles, non dimensional). I bet the roof purchaser gets a 10k roof for a sh#t AR.

I wouldnt buy a new roof unless I needed one, and only ARs I own are builds, something invthe 1500 to 2k range.
