Some kids might have 2 mommies, and some might have 2 daddies. The Prince might fall in love with another Prince instead of a princess. It doesn't totally explain the subject, but could introduce the subject without talking about sex.
If my 5 year old had a friend with two mommies - - and asked me why.
I'd tell him "Because they love each other". Nothing more needs to be said.
And I know five year olds who would say " but my mommy loves her friends .. why didn't she marry them instead of daddy? "
Some 5 year olds ask that anyway, even if homosexuality is never brought up. How would you respond?
I would respond saying there are different types of love ... and the romantic love mommy has for daddy is what created him/her because that is how God chose to create life in many species. Male and female romantic love is how procreation was intended.
I know that sounds ultra conservative but I won't apologize for answering a child's question with what I see as honesty.
you shouldnt apologize but you do sound like a conservative robot.
dont matter
i just tell my daughter that 2 people can love each other. that works.
i did ask her what shoes she wants for school and she said spiderman.
i think i need to take her to the clinic
hahahahahah
my baby is gonna be high fashion on her first day.
she wants spiderman shoes, a minion lunch box, and a mickey backpack.
gonna wear her princess dress with 2 different colored chucks..
what up
Yeah .. I guess I'm the idiot robot parent for talking about Jesus to my children while others give their children shoes based on FAKE super heroes and backpacks with pics of talking mice so they can feel " cool" on first day of school.
Lets all feed our kids Disney BS and call Jesus a fairy tale 🙄
Jesus is a fantasy made up by adults.
Same as any other fantasy.
Tell that to all the people who have experienced live miracles in His time on earth as well as after His ascension. No fantasies there ...only living proof.

The 84 is so irrelevant to our discussion. I only even mentioned it because of Deaf's "talk to me when this number changes"
Like really?

I have a # now?
I am calm ... I just fail to understand how so many parents call Christians fairy tale believers yet encourage their own children to believe in fantasies from entertainment industries.
Maybe that's how they initially get into the indoctination of you can be whatever you feel.
yes.
number 5
you might be confusing me with other parents.
my daughter does not believe that spiderman is real. quite the opposite. she knows its fake.
its called entertainment...you know, fun....
disney=fake...fun
jesus=fake...not fun
didnt want this to turn into that debate but you brought it up.
i fail to see how enjoying something means you believe it to be real

Don't get drawn into the trap. They'll put religion and you on trial over discussing the topic. If they want to do that, they should start a thread in the religion forums.

funny how people can see things so differently huh
ive been hearing about this proof for 40 years now and ive yet to see it
maybe the proof is hidden in all the terrible # people do to each other
maybe the proof is hidden in all the violence and poverty and disease
oh but the rays of sunshine and blooming flowers is all the proof we need
its a big steamy poop emoji

But lets get this back on topic ... how certain communities are using the public teaching system to indoctrinate young minds about subjects that many adults and even health professionals have a difficult time wrapping their head around.
