The prop shaft part is true, they did remove one from Titanic.

Me being old enough to remember that is possibly true.

Right, when the Titanic sank it was the Titanic. The superstructure differences are notable and still visible on the wreck.

I thought the site was declared under protection to preserve their archeological value and a memorial for all those that died.

It was on the history channel last time I watched.
