Well, I got dragged out to see this last night. Am not exactly a 2Pac fan but he definitely had an interesting and complex life so I figured it might
be worth a shot.
Unfortunately what I ended up seeing was 2 and a half hours of what seemed like a disjointed crappy TV movie. There were characters who served
absolutely no purpose except to help provide some exposition..for example the journalist interviewing him in prison is there for about an hour of the
movie helping to tell the back story and all of a sudden 2Pac gets out of jail and he disappears forever.. it made it seem like it was 2 separate
films. Add to that the guy who played Snoop that was so bad the entire cinema started wailing with laughter everytime he came on screen..I think they
actually dubbed Snoop's voice over him which was truly bizarre.
The ending was just abysmal with possibly the most jarring choice of music for a death scene ever; it turned something incredibly serious into an
unintentional comedy.
They did do a good job of casting the guy who played Pac, at times he looks so much like him that it's hard to believe it's not actually him on
screen, he nailed a lot of his mannerisms too but overall...unless you're a hardcore fan avoid this like herpes or wait until it comes on TV.
