SAM747, currently over Illinois and I have history. It's a C-20B that came through Hickam a few years ago on their way home from an Asian trip with
some Washington VIPs on board. We were out when they arrived, and I was walking around, I put my hand on the back of the wing, and my hand came away
wet. I thought it was just water until I smelled it, and caught that odor of JP-4.
So I called my father over, he came with the crew chief (they traveled with the SAM birds on their trips), and the entire back of the wing was covered
in fuel. So fuel cell comes out, and said they could look at the seals under the panels over the fuel tanks but if they're bad, they don't keep them
in stock, so it was up to the crew. They decided to go with the leak, since it didn't appear to be bad, and they'd been gone for like two weeks and
wanted to get home.
It gets to time for them to launch on the way home. We get out to where the plane is, the crew chief sees me get out of the truck, points at me and
says "You stay away from my airplane!"
