An Army Air Corps Lynx Wildcat. Heading south at 10:14am flew West of my house and had a route heading to PHOG KAHULI and KDFW DALLAS FORT WORTH.

Is this a mistake? I will post the screenshot but I have no idea how to post pictures from my phone.

Ignore the route for military aircraft. PHOG is the main airport on Maui, in Hawaii. It's somewhat useful for civilian aircraft, but useless for military.

How does this work? Is all traffic showing? Where do i select military planes?

I have some f16 planes playing over head, but see nothing on the flight map of ADS-B Exchange

Not everything shows up. If they aren't broadcasting you won't see anything. It only shows what's broadcasting at any given time. You can filter for military, or interesting, or several other settings.

It's real time, but sometimes the position isn't exactly accurate. I've seen some on the list of aircraft never show up on the map, others show at 3 million feet, etc.

OK tnx, i like that site, its addicting : )

I got sometimes some strange traffic, this is fun to look up.

About the position, you are right,. It flew straight over 10 minutes ago (*eyesight) , but on the map he was at least 10 km away.

He really is having some good fun...

And a few 10G turns

Edit:

Ok my last post before i spam this topic too much.

Some disappear or reappear in mid flight. So I guess i was right abut the two planes at first, but only one had his transponder on. The other had it occasionally on.

It's fun to flip the filter between Interesting and Military. You catch some really fun military stuff under Interesting. I caught a Global Hawk over the Black Sea one day.

The one that really made me laugh was when they sent the F-35 to Estonia. The entire time they were on the ground doing their show and tell, there were three RC-135s (2 USAF, 1 RAF) orbiting near the Russian border and broadcasting the whole time so people knew they were there. As soon as the F-35s were airborne and on the way out, all three turned around and followed them.

It's common for the others to turn their transponder off when they're flying in formation together. They rely on the flight lead to handle radio, and transponder codes for all aircraft in the flight.
