We have come to a place where now the establishment has become the resistance.

Less than a year after Democrats were still complaining about “Republican obstructionism,” the Democratic National Committee is now hyping events for what it is calling “Resistance Summer,” featuring “house parties” with DNC Deputy Chairman Keith Ellison.

Hard-left activist group MoveOn.org is planning a similar path with their own “Summer of Resistance.” A website for the event offers budding Bolsheviks the chance to become a “Resistance Summer MoveOn Mobilizer” and to “win tangible victories this summer against Trumpism and for a hopeful future.”

Oh good look, George Soros has joined the resistance!

Anyway, this is probably the dumbest thing on the planet and it's actually fairly laughable. I hope none of you are stupid enough to fall for this garbage and to allow the "resistance" (or in other words the establishment) to fool you into thinking they are the revolution. Clever attempt at highjacking an undercurrent in modern culture brought on by the obvious corruption in DC.

I keep trying to understand how anybody can even attain that level of self-deception.

I mean it has happened before, the most obvious example being the Nazi party before WWII. When powerful people come to the conclusion that appearing to actually believe their own propaganda becomes the best solution for attempting to stay in power, it just becomes almost impossible to NOT go completely off the rails.

Not that she didn't cross that bridge a pretty good while back...

Damn, it would be really fun to watch, if it didn't have at least the possibility of sh*t-storm level real-world implications.

Trust me, a huge percentage of the population will fall for it. There are some people in our society who just can't be convinced that most of these "people," and I use the term loosely, aren't well intentioned or that they're corrupt. It's a sad reality. Actually, when I think of "the establishment", I think of the long-term D.C. politicians that have built their "machine" and have their sweet little tits for tats set up that tend to line their own pockets and that of their cronies. They think they own America and have proven over time that TERM LIMITS is making more and more sense.

The establishment is the old guard who's been in control of Washington. They are supported by banking elite and mega corps and are in the pockets of the military industrial complex.

The very cerebral and limited understanding of establishment as it is directly defined is not what we are talking about when mentioning the establishment on ATS.
