The ACA took over a year and had all kinds of discussions, committee meetings and amendments. Hell, the Democrats allowed the Republicans to make over 100 amendments to the ACA.

Keep looking, because the truth is out there....

Took over a year and it was crap. Why? It was made to fail in order to usher in single payer when Hillary inevitably won.

And many of those amendments in the underlying bills weren’t substantial. So yes, they were allowed to make amendments, but they had no real teeth. Stop leaving out key parts of the story.

Medical insurance is written off by large companies. This means they are reducing the amount of money going into the tax coffers. So it already is costing the taxpayer.

We are drip fed that a tax based system is poison. Wonder who is driving this theme?

Us is #1 in costs----#37 in health outcomes. Our system is expensive and horrible.

23 million people can lose insurance for a few months... Lord knows that many times that got royally screwed for years because of this monster, self included.

Of that how many will die? Being cut off insurance for three months could mean a life or death situation for some.

Well I am sure that all of the rich people that scream how healthcare is life and death (like Bernie sanders) can sell some of their excess mansions and jets and pony up for these people for a couple of months.

Romneycare was a state plan that relied on a massive expansion of Medicaid to pick up the slack for children, parents, pregnant women, and the long-term unemployed.

Take away that Medicaid expansion and Romneycare is just as big of a failure as Obamacare.

Getting on medicare/medicaid is not that easy(takes time to process, apply for and qualify), will likely bog down the already crunched system for those in place.

I was hoping for a better answer than that from you.

Unless we call a Constitutional Convention of the States and radically change the Constitution in several places, the Federal government has ZERO ability to provide the kind of single-payer system most advocates of government provided healthcare want.

Obama and the liberal Congress kept bumping up against that fact in 2009. That's why Obamacare had to be passed as a tax.

My preference would be to work within the framework of the existing Constitution and allow the states to pass their own healthcare laws (or not) creating this massively competitive market. Let Medicaid do what it did before Obamacare -- pick up the slack.

I have no idea. I would suspect that thousands probably died earlier than they otherwise would have because the physicians who were treating them and knew their health best were no longer in the picture.

Because god forbid a roof over ones head is more important than going to the doctor once a year for the healthy. Id rather pay my mortgage every month see what im paying for than pay my insurance every month then pay more when i need it once a year but 1st i need to meet an insane deductible. IF i can even do that -_-

It will. There's a lot of issues going on, some I have addressed before: The medical system is already not doing well. Doctors that aren't able to pay their college debts are then docked high percentage rates from their pay. If in debt they cannot take Medicaid/Medicare patients. Let alone Medicaid/Medicare does not always pay out. For example Drs. are leaving rural areas, where they have pay rate issues.

That coupled with leaving the gap smaller if their are less insurance options for people. The Baby Boomer Generation's needs can't be met by the failing health let alone people with dire issues.

Just curious -- and I promise to be nice , I want to hear policy positions, ideas for a healthcare fix, and most importantly, who pays for it and how.
