Day by day, almost inevitably, things are getting quieter and calmer. The protests have all but disappeared. Tantrums have run their course. Accusations easily made are being proven baseless with time. One by one.

The timing seems perfect as the biggest fight looms for Trump with the next budget. With the Republican Congress. It's a safe bet Trump wasn't a happy camper with the last budget effort by that crowd.

There's only so much that can done with EOs. While Obama may have made it easier for Trump to reverse course using similar tactics via the Executive Branch, it remains that real change will only happen with Congressional support.

No one has come out with any real numbers of Trump supporters in the Republican House or even a percentile or guestimate. How many are outright adversaries, how many are the usual flip-floppers and hand-wringing professional politicians. Individual issues are a factor, as well.

Be it willing or enforced, the House- of ill repute?- must be cooperate. Individual seats are at risk in the next mid-terms as the real Trump support has come from the base voters and not special interest campaign donators. A fact hopefully not lost to those Republican Congressmen.

The usual gov't shut-down gambit is perhaps more in play under Trump than any President that I can recall. In that scenario, I doubt Trump will blink. Usually and hopefully, Congress would 'blink' long before Trump would.

The next budget is the battle. The Republican Party had better realize that Trump is the leader of the Party and operate as such.

Not only are seats at risk in the mid-terms and a REAL threat of a gov't shutdown but also the potential/threat of a third party movement coming into play. Be it before, during or even after that budget fight.

"Draining the swamp" cannot be achieved by one man nor only the Executive branch. If a third party IS required to achieve that goal, even partially, then sobeit.

The calm before the storm.....

That's what has baffled me with the Trump election. The Republicans have been in the strongest position in recent memory and they're sabotaging their own party!

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face... They seriously need to pull together and take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity. I just hope that the damage hasn't already been done and it's already too late.

Maybe Bernie Sanders will start a Socialist Party, and remove the Democratic party's base from them.
As for these republicans in Congress. They need to quit messing around, or they're going to have to get a real job.

Laziness. Too long entrenched in a massive comfort zone. Who knows?

Now we have a conduit, a catalyst, in Trump, I don't care why. Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.

Probably the latter. I think a fair few of them were hoping that Trump would get impeached so they could go back to business as usual.

It's really quite sad that they don't want to actually work for a living like the rest of us have to.

I read a scary article yesterday, that people are beginning to accept his crap as "normal". It's NOT normal. HE is not normal. His cabinets are NOT normal. For God's sake, get his family out of the west wing, (how ridiculous is that?) stop lying like a rug, and engage in some diplomacy and stop acting like a fool.

All this sh!t is NOT normal. How much more of this crap are we going to have to put up with? His approval rate is at 34% so I would say, he's not doing well at all. In fact, he's doomed in his own destruction.

Hey! Just another perspective, right? On a site where all 34% of those people who approve of him apparently post here.

"Complacency is the hobgoblin of little minds." I think somebody really smart said that.

A bit of proof that the president is now just a person to place behind a podium or fly around the world to be a face to represent the interests of those running the US.

This is almost a 180 degree change as president but it pretty much business as usual.

Sure a some crumbs get thrown to a few of the average persons to keep hope alive but that's about all it is. Keep believing tough, it's easier. Who's the face this time, a salesman. haha.

Those approval ratings mean nothing.

The majority of Trump supporters feel no urge to log in to a dumb website every week and say that they like what Trump is doing.

The !media are against him at every turn. The terrorist liberal mobs are flooding the streets scaring people. Trump supporters will protest with their votes.

You got one thing right though, NONE OF THIS SH!T IS NORMAL.

I would rebut that if 'all 34% post here, perhaps, just perhaps those numbers are skewed. At the least, they missed surveying me. So the numbers are wrong, I'd bet.

In my case, 'normal' is the last thing I want.

I can't speak for all the Trump supporters, but I'm very pleased, overall, with Trump's performance, to date. Of course, he has enemies, such as yourself.

You see normal. I see acceptance. Perhaps semantics. Of course your scared! He's winning.

More 'crap', please.....

I would hazard a guess that the real approval rating is twice that. Not because the numbers are skewed but because mostly the left shout the loudest.

Yet I just saw a President who organized a summit of 50 leaders of Muslim nations which NO President has ever even come close to doing and deliver a speech that clarified his and the new U.S. position and policy on the ME and terrorism with clarity and well thought out logic.

No, not just another face whatsoever.

If that is a crumb, then give me more.

I, for one, would take a bullet for the man.

Just a sidenote. My Mother is extremely left leaning and even she likes Trump. The haters will pretend that they are in a winning majority but the truth is, a lot of the left are disgusted with the actions of so called 'liberal's lately.

I would take a bullet for you. Despite the fact that I disagree with pretty much everything you post, I wouldn't want to see you get killed.

He just sold 10 years worth of weapons to a known terrorist sympathizer in Saudi Arabia. I think that goes to show where his allegiance lies, with big oil and the MIC, just like every other president before him.
