In parts of Dixieland it seems as if Spring has stayed quite a bit longer than usual.
I would think it would have been a bit warmer than it has been by now.

I'm probably wrong and it's all perception/bad memory, haven't looked at any stats.

dixieland here...waiting for the sweaty weather...not happening (and glad, i hate summertime)

Ha!
That made me laugh. I love Summer and can't wait to get in the water.

So, do you also feel or think as if Spring is hanging on a bit long?

Here in Indiana it's been 70-80 Fahrenheit last 2 weeks.

my wife and I were discussing this today. Remembering the polar vortexes that came through a few years ago and made us bitterly cold, but Juno Alaska spring like.
turns out they aren't something new at all, just rare.

not here in fl shes not ( shoes stoned and totally mellow .
a little cooler for summer but just a few % day in day out except when its hers time of month then she gets a little cranky and starts throughing around lightning bolts .
But we all just burn another confed flag and she mellows right back out lol
hotter hots means the cooler air is puled down faster from the northern ares
so you can have 100 % one hour and 60 the next

Today it's been hot, sunny, cold, windy, raining sideways and currently it's calm, dry and warm. But then again I'm in the UK so that's pretty much just a normal day...

59°F here in Pittsburgh Pa.
Not unheard of, but yes it's chilly. I blame Canada

As a side note however, I have witnessed snow on July 4th a handful of times in Reno NV.

Yes, i do feel that way. Dont think I dont get into the water just bc its not scorching hot tho. Its raining alot and even my very young child says "its too late for rain and tornado season, is it really summer?"

She says it just doesnt feel like summer.

We have always had an expression here in Indiana.

Don't like the weather?
Wait an hour.

West/Southwest Texas.........2 weeks of rain, cold fronts......its June and we've yet to reach 90 degrees; this a.m. it was 64 degrees at daybreak.

Very odd. But, our happy go-lucky weather dude, (former Mobile Home salesman) informed us last week that we're between El Nino and La Nina which makes for some genuinely strange weather.

oh no!!!!

temperature swings of 20 degrees? how are you adapting to that? how are the animals and plants adapting? has mass immigration started yet?

Afterall, scientiests say that it is impossible to adapt to an average temperature change of only 0.8 degrees!

It must be the acopalyse where you live.

Yup, here too.
I'm in northwest wisconsin, and we used to have 4 seasons.
Spring , summer, fall , winter.

Now we have -bugs, rain and tornadoes, hotter than hell, and cold as f#ck....

I have no idea.

Temperature is surprising moderate for early June - only 80. We are a bit on the dry side although it has to be raining somewhere because all of the rivers are running way high.

Here in the North East United States, we are experiencing temperature swings of 20 deg F., and temperatures in the 50's in June.

In a single day the temperature is all over the place - Hot in the afternoon and cold at night.

I am in the North East of the U.S. as well, and yes most definitely bizarre for this time of year!!!!

I am not going to turn the heat on, but it is chilly in my place right now.
It's June. I shouldn't be thinking about turning the heat on.

This past winter was the coldest, the winter and spring, the rainiest since these recorded records were recorded. It's said to have been due to the La Nina. This summer is predicted, if we're going back into an El Nino, to be the hottest on record-already is so far for the Pacific NW(including down into parts of the SW).

Same here in Mid-Cali area. Big difference in temp from day to day and week to week. Normally we'd be ranging from 90's to low 100's every day. Now it goes from 70's to 90's from day to day for some reason. We even got some rain last week for some reason.

Not that I mind too much though actually. It's usually so damn hot here it sucks during this time of year. It's nice to have the cooler days break up the heat. But it is kinda weird. I'm wondering if it's going to effect the growth of my watermelon that I planted this year.
