Ideally, everyone wants to just sit back and love one another. Like the world is just some sort of utopian dream if we all just smile enough.

Everyone starts out that way, then at some point reality sets in. Sometimes it sets in gradually and you adapt, sometimes it's sudden like having a knife plunged into your back.

Sadly, the good ol days can be equated to ignorance. At times, they both can be equally missed and longed for.

Unfortunately, peace requires full tolerance on EVERYONE'S part. You cannot hate someones religion, skin color, or hair color and still give peace a chance. It only takes one group believing that they are superior and are ok with harming the less superior for things to break down. We live in a world where at least 50% of the population feels they are superior in some way.

Never said war was the answer.

My response stemmed more from the position that doing nothing will never change anything.

Sitting bye and hoping or praying for things to just turn out right is foolish.

No they don't. Big difference between that and going out to make war, though.

At least Lennon used his celebrity to try and reach others during the Vietnam war with a peaceful message. Each of us can choose to react peacefully, instead of fanning the flames or going along with the tide of war.
