If you keep posting like this you're going to end up with O'Brien in Room 101 with a box full of rats on your head. That poster is creepy as hell. Who thought that was a good idea?

Stingray operations, etc. are in full force there now. I don't have a problem when it's going to catch the terrorism talk but to filter through that anyone can be caught in the web. Imagine what would ding from someone sharing stuff on this site.

1984 was a work of fiction that described a dystopian future where government surveillance was all encroaching and controlling. Independent thought and individuality is suppressed and it's all pretty miserable. The parallels with communism as espoused by Stalin and the Soviet Union are well known.

1984 and 2017. No comparison if that's what you are trying to do. Sorry. Read the book.

Considering I can post relatively what opinion I like here on ATS and most place on the internet or inside the UK for that matter.
Considering I can support more or less any political party providing I don't promote hate speech etc here in the UK..
Considering I can more or less go wherever I want in the UK.

I could go on but I'm sure you get the picture.

Sure, there are many, many problems here in the UK and its far from perfect....but to compare it to some sort of Orwellian state is way wide of the mark.

Oh, and I thought you were supposed to oost at least some sort of narrative to explain your OP, perhaps I'm wrong?

I can see the obvious similarities between the posters.

This is just the beginning.

I remember that poster from way back! It's 15 years ago since they were (briefly) posted around London's busiest areas.

You should change your title to 'Look at these old posters.'

It was 'Red Ken' who was London mayor back then - American ATSers would have loved to hate him. To be honest, I had assumed the posters were a spoof or hoax so it's surprising to find the old Wired article saying they were real. I bet they sell for a few quid nowadays.

But:

Nineteen Eighty-Four, often published as 1984, is a dystopian novel published in 1949 by English author George Orwell.[2][3] The novel is set in Airstrip One (formerly known as Great Britain), a province of the superstate Oceania in a world of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance, and public manipulation. The superstate and its residents are dictated to by a political regime euphemistically named English Socialism, shortened to "Ingsoc" in Newspeak, the government's invented language. The superstate is under the control of the privileged elite of the Inner Party, a party and government that persecutes individualism and independent thinking as "thoughtcrime", which is enforced by the "Thought Police".[4]

Thought Police = SJWs shouting out any differing opinion from their left-wing bias. Physical violence and protests to shut down debate and differing opinions.

Thought Crimes aka Independant thinking = Questioning reality of the situation, not accepting that this "is the reality of living in a big city", challenging that terror attacks "have nothing to do with Islam", questioning that narrative that "Muslims are the real victims" etc etc etc

Omnipresent Gov't surveillance = CCTV cameras on every street corner and unfettered internet surveillance by the Police/CIA/FBI/Scotland Yard

Public Manipulation = "Fake News" CCNs staged Muslim protest, State-run Media's (BBC) leftwing bias, 80% of the American MSM being owned by, run by or openly associated with the democrats pumping propaghanda

Airstrip One Superstate = Globalisation

Perpetual War = seemingly endless fighting in the ME and now in our own countries against ourselves. Fractured communities of differing opinions

Can't someone design an app?

Like a stingray blocker?

Or at least like a radar to catch pings?

Not too sure its actually 'left-wing bias' - we have a Conservative government that has very Conservative policies.
MSM is dominated by Conservative supporters / donors / lobbyists etc.

Yes, the PC driven, namby-pamby do-gooders have far, far too much influence.

But I can still pretty much say what I want within certain parameters, pretty much the same as the US and elsewhere.

Generation's Y and Snowflake have been mollycoddled far too much - they need a hard lesson in reality.

Physical violence and protests to shut down debate and differing opinions.

Where has this happened?
Please provide links.

Thought Crimes aka Independant thinking = Questioning reality of the situation, not accepting that this "is the reality of living in a big city",.....

Do you honestly think that dumbing down and not encouraging people to think for themselves using reasoned, cognitive thought is unique to the UK?

challenging that terror attacks "have nothing to do with Islam", questioning that narrative that "Muslims are the real victims" etc etc etc

There are plenty of people questioning that particular narrative - go in any pub, club etc and you'll hear plenty of people questioning and openly disagreeing with that....without any sort of censure whatsoever.

Omnipresent Gov't surveillance = CCTV cameras on every street corner and.....

Absolute bollocks.
The vast majority of CCTV camera's are privately owned and are there to monitor commercial and private premises.
The police require due reason to obtain access to these images.....exactly the same as most other 'western' nations.

Do you really believe that all these images are forwarded to some secret monitoring centre where people are continuously viewing all these images?

.....unfettered internet surveillance by the Police/CIA/FBI/Scotland Yard

Its not that much different to anywhere else - you can still access almost any sort of site you want....people watching porn or contributing to conspiracy sites are NOT under threat of imminent arrest.
Authorities search for key words - mainly stuff related to terrorism....and that's what they want more control of and access to.

Public Manipulation = "Fake News" CCNs staged Muslim protest,...

CNN being an American network targeting an American audience.

....State-run Media's (BBC) leftwing bias,....

Lefties say that there's far too much right wing bias.
Tories say there's too much left wing bias.
The BBC says it tries its best remain strictly neutral with no bias.

Take you pick.

....80% of the American MSM being owned by, run by or openly associated with the democrats pumping propaghanda ....

Even if true what's that got to do with the UK?

Airstrip One Superstate = Globalisation ....

Your point?
Globalisation is exactly what it says; a global policy.
Personally I have no time for the global agenda, but I see it everywhere, especially on my regular trips outside the UK.

Perpetual War = seemingly endless fighting in the ME and now in our own countries against ourselves. Fractured communities of differing opinions

Mankind has been in an almost perpetual state of war since the moment we climbed out of the trees - a damning indictment of our species....but true nonetheless.
